Bengaluru: Former Akhil Bharatiya Sahakaryavahika Ma. Kru. Rukmini Akka passed away at the age of 98 in Bengaluru on May 21, drawing condolences from senior functionaries of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and the Rashtra Sevika Samiti. She was the sister of late Kru. Suryanarayan Rao and late Kru. Narahari.

In a condolence message, RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat and Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale described her demise as creating “a void in the world of emotions”, recalling her decades-long contribution towards organising Hindu society and imparting values to women through the Rashtra Sevika Samiti.

The RSS leadership stated that Rukmini Akka’s life and personality stood as a “radiant example of a meaningful life dedicated to the nation”. They noted that her motherly affection, simplicity, and constant activeness had influenced generations of sevikas and swayamsevaks alike.

The message further stated that with her passing, the Sangh Parivar had lost a mother-like guardian and “the last link of that generation” of the family of Surya Narayan Rao.

Expressing deep condolences to her family and members of the Samiti, the RSS leaders prayed for peace and salvation for the departed soul, concluding the message with “Om Shanti”.
