Tarn Taran: On May 11, 2026, around 20 unidentified masked men attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party’s district headquarters near the Tarn Taran bypass in Punjab. The attackers allegedly entered the office premises, vandalised property, broke windowpanes and assaulted BJP leaders present inside the office. The sudden attack created panic and tension in the area.
Soon after the incident was reported, a heavy police force reached the spot and initiated an investigation. Police have registered a case and launched a search operation to identify the attackers.
CCTV footage from the area is also being examined. In view of the tense atmosphere, security outside the BJP office has been tightened.
The incident comes following recent grenade attacks in Amritsar and Jalandhar. The repeated incidents have intensified concerns regarding security in the state, while fear among the public over law and order continues to grow.
According to BJP leaders, the attackers vandalised chairs and other items inside the office. Posters carrying slogans such as “BJP Murdabad” were also thrown inside the office. The City Police reached the location and assessed the situation. More details awaited.
