The pre-planned gherao of judicial officers conducting SIR in Malda is yet another attempt to erode trust in Bharat’s democratic institutions. The land of Swami Vivekananda, Rabindra Thakur, Subhash Bose, and Bankim Chandra, once the centre of the anti-colonial movement and a beacon of rich culture, is on the verge of implosion under Mamata. Maa (Mother) no longer feels safe, Mati (Land) is being encroached upon by illegal infiltrators, and Manush (People) are moving to other States amid a sustained economic decline. The WB Elections 2026 is the last chance for voters to reclaim the state’s spirit, restore the rule of law, and rebuild a path to prosperity

  • Contractualisation of Labour: A structural shift in the manufacturing sector shows direct employment declining from 77% (2008-09) to 60% (2023-24), with contract labor rising to 40%, increasing job insecurity
