People are definitely going to bring change in West Bengal, BJP Chief Minister will be sworn in on May 5: HM Amit Shah

During his election campaign in West Bengal, Home Minister Amit Shah slammed Mamata Banerjee led TMC government for not lending land to the BSF for fencing the borders across Bangladesh. This has led to huge infiltration. Amit Shah thus asserted that BJP government will be formed in the state and it will ensure that the infiltrators are identified and removed from the country

Durgapur: Home Minister Amit Shah on April 13, Monday expressed confidence of BJP’s victory in the West Bengal assembly polls, saying people of Bengal are “definitely going to bring change” in the state in the assembly polls. Talking with ANI during his road show here, he said a BJP Chief Minister will be sworn in in the state after the results are announced on May 4. “This time, the people of Bengal are definitely going to bring change in Bengal, and on 5th(May), BJP Chief Minister will be sworn in here”, he told ANI.

He was asked about the support the BJP is getting in the state for the assembly polls to be held on April 23 and 29. Amit Shah, who earlier addressed rallies in Paschim Bardhaman and Birbhum, accused West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of turning “Sonar Bangla into syndicate raj”, and said “BJP will work on building Sonar Bangla” as envisioned by Guru Rabindranath Tagore.

Home Minister Amit Shah accused Mamata Banerjee of turning the slogan of “Maa, Maati, Maanush” into “mafia, muscleman and money power gang”. “BJP will work on building Sonar Bangla as envisioned by Guru Rabindranath Tagore”, he said. He also accused the Mamata Banerjee government of not giving the required land to complete border fencing.

“BSF needs 600 acres of land to fence the border. However, Mamata Didi refuses to give land, which leads to infiltration. Mamata ji shelters infiltrators and they, in turn, elect her. On 4th May, the BJP Govt is going to be formed, and we will ensure that infiltrators are identified and removed from the country”,  he said. He further added hat thousands of factories had moved out of Bengal during the Trinamool Congress rule. “Mamata Didi has rendered the youth of Bengal once considered the industrial hub of entire India jobless”, the Home Minister stated.

The Union Minister also reiterated that BJP promises of implementing the Uniform Civil Code and the 7th Pay Commission in West Bengal. “It’s time to say bye-bye to Mamata’s government. Removing Mamata’s government means creating an infiltrator-free Bengal. If you want to remove infiltrators from Bengal, only and only the BJP can do this job”, he asserted.

Massive road show in Durgapur and attacks TMC government

As Union Home Minister Amit Shah continues his relentless election campaign in West Bengal, he held a massive roadshow in Durgapur of Paschim Bardhaman district. A sea of supporters surrounded the Home Minister as his caravan slowly moved through crowded streets with only saffron colour in sight. In a post on X, Amit Shah said that the people of Paschim Bardhaman are ready to uproot and throw out TMC from its roots”.

Earlier, addressing a public rally at Palli Mangal Club Ground in Mayureshwar, Shah slammed West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s remarks advising women not to step out after 7 PM, following the RG Kar rape case, accusing the TMC government of failing to ensure women’s safety in the state. “Mamata Didi says that women should not step out after 7 PM. Mamata didi had some shame, despite being a woman Chief Minister yourself, you couldn’t protect the sister of Bengal”, Shah said.

Projecting the BJP as an alternative, Shah said, “You just form a BJP government once, we will make such a Bengal where even a little girl can ride out on a scooter at 1 AM at night. No Sandeshkhali, RG Kar, Durgapur Law College or South Kolkata Law College-like incident will happen”. Intensifying his attack on Banerjee, Shah remarked, “Just now, I was watching a speech of Mamata Didi. She was scaring the majority community here, saying that if TMC isn’t there, the majority community won’t survive. During their rule, there were riots in Murshidabad, attacks on Ram Navami, a ban on Saraswati Puja-where had she gone then?”

Shah also asserted that the upcoming Assembly elections would mark a turning point in the state, stating, “The goons of TMC will no longer be able to terrorise the people of Bengal with their bomb blasts. The people of Bengal will respond to bombs with ballots and to fear with trust. I want to tell the people of Bengal that you should find the lotus symbol on the ballot machine. The BJP government will take care of finding all the goons of TMC”. “I am telling the goons of TMC today stay locked in your homes on April 23, otherwise, on May 4, you will be handpicked and thrown behind the bars of jail”, he added.

The 294-member West Bengal Assembly elections will be held in two phases on April 23 and April 29, with the counting of votes scheduled for May 4.
