NEW DELHI: The Central Office ‘Vidya Bharati Bhavan’ of Vidya Bharati Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Sansthan was inaugurated today, April 2, 2026, with Vedic rituals. The occasion marked a historic moment in strengthening the resolve of value-based education, sanskars, and nation-building rooted in Bharatiya ethos.
The newly constructed central office, Vidya Bharati Bhavan, at Deendayal Upadhyaya Marg, was inaugurated with a havan and traditional rituals. Subsequently, a cultural and main stage programme was organised at Bal Bhavan. The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and Saraswati Vandana.
Students from Vidya Bharati Delhi Prant presented classical dance, a theatrical performance based on the life of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, group songs, and folk dances, showcasing India’s cultural heritage, traditions, and spirit of nationalism.
In his welcome address, Akhil Bharatiya Mahamantri Deshraj Sharma Ji introduced the dignitaries and stated that Vidya Bharati has today emerged as one of the largest educational organisations in the world, with a vast family of students, alumni, acharyas, and karyakartas engaged in education. He emphasised that education is not merely about acquiring knowledge but about connecting individuals to their roots, culture, and traditions. He also highlighted that Vidya Bharati is actively implementing multiple projects across the country and contributing significantly to the execution of the National Education Policy. Efforts are also underway to strengthen digital infrastructure and to launch a television channel in the future.
Chief Guest Dharmendra Pradhan, in his address, described Vidya Bharati as an important “reference point” in the fields of education, language, and skill development. He noted that several provisions in the National Education Policy—such as mother-tongue-based education, bagless days, teacher training, and skill development—have been inspired by Vidya Bharati’s initiatives.
Pujya Anandmurti Guru Maa, in her address, appreciated the organisation’s work in remote, border, and Naxal-affected regions, terming it a significant contribution to nation-building. She expressed confidence that the new central office would further accelerate the organisation’s activities.
Senior RSS Pracharak Suresh Soni Ji stated that while Vidya Bharati is gaining widespread social acceptance, much work remains in the field of education. He stressed that education must go beyond physical infrastructure and focus on emotional, human, and sensitive development. Keeping in mind the vision of a developed India by 2047, he underlined the need for value-based, nation-oriented, and sensitive education.
Vidya Bharati has today achieved extensive expansion in the education sector. It is among the largest non-governmental educational organisations in the country, operating more than 24,000 formal schools, 59 colleges, and 2 universities across 684 districts. Around 3.3 million students and 1.5 lakh acharyas are part of this ecosystem. Additionally, over 10,000 Ekal Vidyalayas and Sanskar Kendras in service bastis, tribal, and rural areas are reaching more than 2.5 lakh students. Through 46 provincial committees across 11 regions, more than 28 educational projects are being implemented with the objective of providing mother-tongue-based, value-oriented, and nation-centric education.
On this occasion, architects, engineers, contractors, and dedicated karyakartas who contributed to the construction of ‘Vidya Bharati Bhavan’ were felicitated.
The programme witnessed the presence of members of the Vidya Bharati Delhi Prant managing committee, along with the entire school fraternity, presidents, principals, acharyas, former acharyas, alumni, Matri Bharati, and parents in large numbers.
In conclusion, Akhil Bharatiya President of Vidya Bharati, Dr Ravindra Kanhere Ji, delivered the vote of thanks, congratulating all karyakartas of Vidya Bharati Delhi Prant and expressing his gratitude to all the distinguished guests present.
The event was also graced by Shri Govind Mahant Ji; Sah-Sangathan Mantri Shri Yatindra Ji and Shri Ramarao Vakarkar Ji; Sangathan Mantri (Higher Education) Shri Raghunandan Ji; along with provincial, regional, and national-level office bearers, managing committee members, acharyas, and distinguished guests from across the country.
