KOCHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modiji carried out whirlwind tours in Palakkad and Thrissur on March 29 as part of the assembly election campaign in Kerala. PM’s first programme was at Palakkad. He led a road show in the town before addressing the mammoth public rally in the afternoon. Thousands of party workers, sympathisers and the general public lined up on either side of the roads to have a glimpse of him.
The prime minister repeated the same programme in Thrissur in the evening. In Thrissur, Union Minister Suresh Gopi and three NDA/BJP candidates from the district were with the PM during the roadshow. Thrissur candidate Padmaja Venugopal (daughter of four-time chief minister, powerful Congress leader and strong man of Congress High Command during the regime of PM P.V. Narasimha Rao), Manaloor candidate Adv. K.K. Aneesh and Nattika, candidate and sitting MLA C.C. Mukundan (he resigned from the CPI {Communist Party of India} a couple of weeks before!
Addressing a huge public meeting in Palakkad, he began his speech by paying his pranams at the feet of the deity of Bhagwan Viswanath, who stands with Ma Vishalakshi at the famous and legendary Kalppathi temple in Palakkad. PM said that Kerala has undergone tremendous changes in the political landscape. He said that the support he gets and the enthusiasm the people of Kerala show that Keralam’s mindset has changed. BJP has become a big movement. Keralam’s youths, farmers and women love both BJP and NDA. Sacrifices of lakhs of party workers are behind this change. Hundreds of workers have died in political violence. PM paid homage to the departed souls.
The Prime Minister started the speech by narrating “Jai Keralam” and a few words in Malayalam.
PM said, Palakkad is beautiful. Palakkad is the gateway to the state and is a natural beauty. It has an ancient culture and is the centre of genius and hard work. Kalppathi is like Kashi. PM said he represents the Kashi constituency. Palakkad is a noble place like Kashi.
PM remembered a galaxy of spiritual souls and respected social reformers such as Sree Narayana Gurudev, Sreemad Chattambi Swamiji, Mahatma Ayyankali, Mannath Padmanabhan, and Fr. Kuriakose Elias Chavara.
Modiji referred to two masked, selfish Fronts – the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) and the CPM-led Left Democratic Front (LDF). If one is corrupt, the other is the most corrupt. One is communal, the other is most communal. Both are least bothered about the state’s development.
PM asserted that BJP/NDA will rule the state and the development is “Modi’s Guarantee”. Keralam will develop. “Viksit Keralam” will be materialised. He said “Maaraathathu Maarum”, BJP’s election caption in Malayalam, meaning “What did not change so far will change now”. Keralam will develop and grow. Both UDF and LDF join hands to loot.
PM ridiculed both Fronts over their allegation, invoking the BJP bogey. Communists say that Congress is the BJP’s B-Team. Congress says that LDF is the BJP’s B-Team. That means, both agree that BJP is the A-Team.
In Keralam, both LDF and UDF target BJP. They are afraid of the BJP alone. Because they know that if the BJP comes to power, their corrupt practices will be exposed. If the BJP comes to power, they will be investigated. In the entire county, both Fronts join hands. But, in Keralam, they fight teach other! People of Keralam should be careful about them.
The Prime Minister added that the BJP and the NDA are certain to form the government. Such a government will fulfil the people’s dreams.
PM said that the BJP alone is protecting the women. He called on the women of Keralam to be cautious. BJP always stand and work for the protection of women. This care can be seen in the economic, health and housing sectors. The Union government’s entire schemes prioritise women. The government passed Narishakthi Vandan Abhiyan for the deserving participation of women in assemblies and parliament. But, a Congress leader in Palakkad poses a threat to the women’s safety and security. Now, one more Congress leader has been removed from party positions for exploiting women. Modiji said that the BJP takes efforts to elevate even ordinary women to high positions.
Congress and Communists rule the state one after another. None of them talks about the corruption of others once they get power. When the BJP comes to power, the party will expose the corruption of both. That is why both are afraid of BJP. If at all they are afraid of anyone, it is the BJP and the NDA.
Union government is too particular to make sure that Bharatiyas are safe wherever they are, including war zones. As soon as the war broke out, our government has been getting in touch with all countries and asking them to give safety and security to our people. We are making every effort through our embassies. But, Congress looks for danger to our people so that they can blame the union government.
The Prime Minister said that the NDA’s manifesto is for Viksita Keralam (A developed Keralam). The NDA guarantees that youths will not have to leave the country. It is Modi’s guarantee too. NDA’s agenda is to provide appropriate opportunities and facilities for able and qualified youth. It is also Modi’s guarantee.
It is sure that PM’s roadshows in Palakkad and Thrissur and the public meeting in Palakkad have boosted the BJP’s morale across the state. He has electrified the party workers in the entire state. It has improved the electoral prospects of the NDA candidates. That is why spokesmen of both UDF and LDF have already come with criticisms. That means they are scared now.
