Thiruvananthapuram: Monalisa Bhosle, who rose to fame after going viral at the 2025 Kumbh Mela, has married actor and model Farman Khan in Kerala. The marriage, however, has sparked controversies, with her family opposing the union and social media debating the couple’s age difference.
Monalisa, 18, and Farman, 26, have an eight-year age gap. The revelation came after Farman presented their marriage certificate to the media to prove that Monalisa is legally an adult. According to the certificate, Monalisa was born on January 1, 2008, while Farman’s birth date is listed as June 11, 2000. The couple had been in a relationship for the past six months, which reportedly began after they became friends on Facebook about a year and a half ago. Farman, a Maharashtra-based actor and model, has worked in regional films and numerous modelling assignments.
Monalisa, originally from Maheshwar, Madhya Pradesh, gained nationwide attention for her golden eyes and charm while selling garlands during the Kumbh Mela. She recently came to Kerala for a role in the Malayalam film Nagamma, where she met Farman, and their friendship eventually blossomed into love.
Family Opposition and Legal Stand
Family opposition has been a major challenge for the couple. Monalisa’s father, Jai Singh Bhosale, along with other family members, reportedly tried to bring her back home and even pressured her to marry a relative, citing religious differences between the two. However, Monalisa and Farman appeared at the Thampanoor police station in Thiruvananthapuram, where she insisted she would not return home and was determined to marry her boyfriend.
The release of the marriage certificate has reignited debates on social media, not only regarding their age difference but also around broader societal and cultural discussions.
