The anti-Hindu violence that rocked Leicester in 2022, where Muslim mobs targeted Hindu residents while sections of the Islamo-leftist ecosystem attempted to portray the perpetrators as victims of alleged “Hindutva aggression”, has continued to cast a shadow over the safety of Hindus in parts of the UK. In March 2026 alone, several incidents of attacks targeting Hindus and Indian-owned establishments have reportedly surfaced in Wembley, raising fresh concerns within the community.
Somali Muslim gang attacks Manek Chowk Restaurant
On March 5, a group of around 15–20 masked men stormed the Indian restaurant Manek Chowk Restaurant located on Ealing Road after 8 pm. According to reports, the attackers smashed furniture, equipment, and windows, leaving the restaurant badly damaged. Visuals from the spot showed overturned tables and chairs, shattered glass, and crockery scattered across the floor.
Witnesses stated that the attack occurred without any apparent confrontation or provocation. The assailants were reportedly part of a Somali Muslim gang.
Second attack on the same restaurant
Just two days later, on March 7, the same establishment was reportedly targeted again. Eyewitnesses claimed that around 15–20 attackers approached from the direction of a nearby mosque and began vandalising the restaurant.
Shortly afterwards, another group of approximately 10–12 youths allegedly arrived in a bus and joined the attack, suggesting that the incident may have been coordinated. During the assault, the attackers reportedly damaged furniture, smashed lights, and vandalised the cash counter inside the restaurant. The repeated attacks on the Indian restaurant have heightened fears among local Hindu and Indian-origin residents in Wembley, many of whom are calling for stronger action to prevent further violence.
Eggs hurled at Rangrez Restaurant in Hammersmith
The Rangrez Restaurant, owned by Sikh restaurateur Harman Singh Kapoor, was vandalised on March 7 after eggs were reportedly hurled at the premises following closing hours. The incident is believed to be linked to the restaurant’s publicly stated policy of serving only non-Halal food.
Kapoor has previously said that he has faced repeated backlash and threats from Islamist elements over his decision to maintain a strictly “proudly non-Halal” menu at the restaurant in Hammersmith. Earlier this year, he had also announced plans to shut down the establishment, citing persistent threats, harassment, and what he described as inadequate response from the police regarding the security concerns surrounding the business.
Panesar Food Store in Wembley ransacked by masked men
On March 6, Panesar Food Store, located on Harrow Road, was reportedly targeted by a group of masked individuals who ransacked the shop. According to reports, the attackers pulled down boxes of fruits and vegetables, threw them onto the ground, and trampled over them, leaving the store in disarray. A local resident describing the incident said, “They destroy the places, video it and go. It looks like they…” suggesting that the perpetrators appeared to record the vandalism before leaving the scene.
Hindu Holi celebration disrupted by mob near Harrow Civic Centre
On March 3, 2026, a Holi celebration attended by hundreds of Hindus near the former Harrow Civic Centre reportedly turned tense after a group of Muslim youths allegedly created disturbances at the venue’s parking area. The incident occurred while the festival gathering was underway close to the International Siddhashram Shakti Centre.
Videos of the episode circulated widely on social media, showing scenes of pushing and scuffling as tensions escalated between the attendees and the intruding group. Authorities later confirmed that a 14-year-old had been apprehended in connection with the disturbance.
According to eyewitness accounts, the group initially approached the event while Hindus were performing Holika Dahan rituals and allegedly began disrupting the gathering by shouting abuses and throwing trash cans. Witnesses further claimed that the youths first created a commotion and left the scene, but later returned with a larger group.
A report by the UK-based Hindu advocacy organisation INSIGHT UK stated that the individuals involved had come back with around twenty others before the situation escalated into an attack on people attending the celebration.
