Alwar: An ancient Mandir located in Alwar became the target of a shocking act of vandalism, leaving the local community outraged. Anti-social elements destroyed Shivling and damaged several other murtis, while a decayed calf was also found discarded near the Mandir, escalating tensions in the area.

Alwar Mandir Vandalised

According to local reports, the incidents began a few days ago when the neck of a Nandi murti was discovered broken. Soon after, the trunk of a Bhagwan Ganesha murti was also found damaged. Initially, residents speculated that monkeys might have caused the destruction. However, the situation took a more alarming turn when the Shivling was found completely destroyed with a stone, and a broken stone was discovered nearby, suggesting the act was deliberate rather than accidental.

The discovery of a dead calf near the Mandir further aggravated the situation. Residents quickly gathered at the site, protesting the desecration and demanding immediate and strict action against those responsible. The atmosphere was tense, with locals fearing further attacks on the sacred site.

Police Intervention and Community Demands

Authorities responded promptly, with the police arriving at the scene to pacify the crowd. Officers assured the residents that an investigation would be conducted thoroughly and that the culprits would not be spared. Police have started collecting evidence, including examining the broken stone found near the Shivling, to identify the perpetrators.

The incident has sparked widespread concern among the local community and religious groups, highlighting the vulnerability of heritage and religious sites to targeted attacks. Devotees have called for increased security around the Mandir and stricter measures to prevent such acts of vandalism in the future.
