LUDHIYANA: “Small groups of outsiders once came and ruled over us, the fundamental reason being that our society was not organised. Today, when the country is independent, our objective is the all-round development of the nation, which is possible only through the active participation of all sections of society and by taking everyone along” said Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat while addressing a gathering in Ludhiana, Punjab on February 26, 2026.
He interacted with a group of eminent citizens during a gathering held at the auditorium of Sri Aurobindo College of Commerce and Management (SACCM).
He stated that when we speak of organising society, it means all 1.42 billion people living in Bharat. Respecting everyone is the Bharatiya perspective. On the question of different beliefs, faiths, and sects, he said that all ultimately move towards the same destination, though the paths may differ. One should remain firm on one’s own path while respecting the paths of others.
He urged that the themes of Panch Parivartan—social harmony, environmental responsibility, family values, swa, and civic duty be reflected in our conduct.
Speaking on the environment, he referred to the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev ji, quoting “Pavan Guru Pani Pita Mata Dharat Mahat.”
He said that the Sangh exists for the nation, not for itself. When we say “Sangh work,” we mean work for the country and society, not for any particular organisation.
The interaction programme also included a session for resolving queries, during which the Sarsanghchalak answered several important questions related to the nation and society in detail.
Around 800 distinguished citizens from various fields across Punjab participated in the programme. The gathering included members of social organisations, renowned doctors, representatives of religious institutions, personalities from the film and media sectors, prominent industrialists, scientists, academicians etc.
During the programme, Punjab Prant Sanghchalak Iqbal Singh was also present on stage alongside the Sarsanghchalak. The event concluded with the National Anthem.
