The weekly tracker highlights patterns of violence, intimidation, desecration and harassment, raising concerns over religious safety and community security

The first week of February 2026 saw several incidents across different Indian states and neighbouring countries that raised fresh concerns about religious safety, communal harmony and police response. Reports included cases of temple desecration in Bangladesh, allegations of targeted harassment, sexual crimes, coercive religious practices, misinformation and provocation through social media.

The incidents were reported from states such as Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Uttarakhand, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Bihar, West Bengal and Chhattisgarh, along with countries including Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal, Nigeria and Russia. While each case differed in nature, common concerns related to religious targeting, misuse of digital platforms and questions over administrative handling. Several cases involved women, minors and other vulnerable groups, prompting debate around safety and accountability. As these events unfolded, Organiser reiterated its role as a voice of the nation, documenting such developments and placing them within a larger national and civilisational context. The detailed incidents from February 2 to February 8, 2026, are outlined below.

February 02, 2026

1. Hindu Temple Idols Desecrated in Rajbari District, Bangladesh

On 2 February 2026, a Hindu temple named Sri Sri Mahasmashan Kali Temple was targeted in Hatbangram Baro Palli of Sarisha Union, under Pangsha Upazila in Rajbari District, Bangladesh. According to media reports, miscreants desecrated multiple sacred idols inside the temple.

The incident came to light on 3 February 2026 in the afternoon, when Mamata Barman visited the temple and discovered that the idols of Goddess Kali, Lord Shiva, a snake, and the faces of the Dakini-Yogini had been disfigured and deformed. The Kali idol in the temple was reportedly made of clay and housed within a roofed structure. Following the discovery, members of the temple committee and local Hindu community gathered at the site.

Bidhan Kumar Biswas, General Secretary of the Pangsha Puja Celebration Committee, stated that the temple, being part of a crematorium, had no guards or CCTV cameras. He said miscreants appeared to have damaged the idols from outside the temple using a large stick or an iron tool and added that no such incident had occurred there previously. He described the act as an attempt to disrupt long-standing communal harmony in the area.

Pangsha Upazila Executive Officer Md. Rifatul Haque said investigations had begun and that he had spoken with the cremation committee. He noted that the idol involved was scheduled for immersion earlier but could not be immersed, and that a new idol would be created after the immersion of the existing one.

2. Hindu Families Harassed and Assaulted in Agra, Forced to Leave Homes

On 2 February 2026, around forty Hindu families living in Bhagwan Nagar Block A, Kamala Nagar area of Agra, Uttar Pradesh, reported repeated harassment and assaults allegedly carried out by members of a Muslim family led by a man identified as Mohammad Shahbaz. According to media reports, the affected Hindu families faced continuous stone-pelting, intimidation, and physical attacks over a prolonged period, creating an atmosphere of fear and insecurity.

Residents stated that stones and bricks were frequently thrown at Hindu homes, with women and children being particularly affected. Daily disputes and tension disrupted normal life in the locality. Several residents reported injuries, and during a Hindu family function on 2 February 2026, Shahbaz’s son, identified as Sunny, allegedly entered a Hindu household and assaulted a resident, who later required stitches. Hindu women in the area also complained of molestation, misbehaviour, and harassment. As the situation persisted, nearly 40 Hindu families put up “House for Sale” posters outside their homes and began planning to migrate elsewhere for safety.

The victims reported approaching the police multiple times but claimed that instead of receiving protection, they were threatened, leaving them with no option but to sell their homes. Local councillor Hariom Baba Agarwal also stated that no effective action was taken despite complaints.

3. Hindu Students Coerced Into Islamic Practices at Government School in Mathura

On 2 February 2026, allegations emerged from a government primary school in the Nauhjheel area of Mathura district, Uttar Pradesh, concerning the treatment of Hindu minor students. According to complaints cited in media reports, Hindu students at Nauhjheel Primary School were allegedly mocked for their religion, subjected to derogatory remarks about Hindu deities, and coerced into offering namaz on school premises.

The issue came to light after parents of Hindu students raised concerns, following which Durgesh Pradhan, President of the BJP Bajna Mandal, submitted a written complaint to the Basic Education Officer (BSA), Mathura. The complaint alleged that Hindu children were pressured to participate in Islamic religious practices, misled toward religious conversion, and discouraged from expressing their own religious identity. It also stated that the national anthem was not regularly organised at the school and that students were reprimanded if they sang it.

The victims in the case were Hindu minor students enrolled at the government primary school. According to the complaint, the students were young and attending the school under the authority of its administration when the alleged acts occurred. Parents reported that the children were influenced and pressured in a school environment where they were expected to receive neutral and secular education.

The accused was identified as the school’s headmaster, Jan Mohammad. Following receipt of the complaint, the Basic Education Officer, Mathura, conducted a preliminary assessment and found the headmaster prima facie guilty. He was suspended from service, and the education department constituted a two-member inquiry committee to conduct a detailed investigation. The BSA stated that further departmental action would be decided based on the findings of the inquiry committee.

4. Cow Abuse Case Involving Muslim Man Leads to Arrest in Betul, Madhya Pradesh

On Sunday, 1 February 2026, police arrested a man following the circulation of a video allegedly showing the sexual abuse of a cow in the Damjipura area of Betul district, Madhya Pradesh. The incident came to light after the video went viral, prompting complaints from local residents and members of Hindu organisations.

According to police statements, leaders of a Hindu organisation submitted a complaint at around 9 am at the Damjipura police outpost, alleging that the act had taken place and that a local YOUTH had recorded the incident on video. Based on this information, police took the accused into custody and initiated legal proceedings. An FIR was registered, and further investigation is ongoing.

The animal involved in the incident was identified as a cow owned by the accused. The video showing the alleged act circulated on social media, which led to anger among sections of the local Hindu community. Following the development, police deployed additional personnel in the area to maintain law and order. Authorities also reported that, after the arrest, unidentified outsiders set fire to five shops in Damjipura.

The accused was identified as Abu Khan, a resident of Damjipura who reportedly operated a puncture repair shop in the area. Superintendent of Police Virendra Jain confirmed that the accused had been taken into custody soon after the complaint was received and stated that the case was being investigated in accordance with the law.

5. Bhopal Horror: Muslim Osaf Ali Khan Rapes Schoolgirl, Forces Kalma & Namaz, Blackmails with Video

A Class 11 minor from Shahpura’s top school suffered a horrific ordeal when Osaf Ali Khan raped her in isolated Khanugaon, secretly filming it to extort Rs 1 lakh, she paid Rs 40,000 in fear.

Kohefiza SHO Krishna Gopal Shukla revealed Osaf gained her trust via a school friend he stalked, then in July 2025 lured her out promising sightseeing, only to assault her in his car despite resistance, falsely promising marriage. He continued exploiting her sexually, ignoring payment.

When blocked, Osaf harassed her via new numbers and leaked clips to friends; she disclosed he coerced religious conversion post-marriage, forcing repeated Kalma recitation and namaz. With cousin and Hindu group aid, she filed at Kohefiza station, police arrested him, seized his phone for forensics.

On February 3 court remand, lawyers beat Osaf before police intervened; FIR stands under rape, blackmail, POCSO laws.

6. Landhaura Doctor’s Horrific Molestation: Rizwan Caught Inserting Finger into Hindu Woman’s Private Parts During Treatment

Haridwar, Uttarakhand, February 2, 2026: A doctor named Rizwan at Loknayak private hospital in Landhaura has been arrested for sexually molesting a Hindu woman by inserting his finger into her private parts during a medical checkup.

The incident occurred on January 31, when a woman from Landhaura area, who had married six months earlier and was visiting her maternal home with her husband, suddenly fell ill. Her husband admitted her to Loknayak hospital in Landhaura, where Dr. Rizwan repeatedly came for checkups.

Dr. Rizwan sent the husband to buy fruits from the market, leaving the woman alone. Taking advantage, he lifted her clothes and inserted his finger into her private parts. Upon the husband’s return, the woman informed him of the assault.

Her relatives arrived, creating a major uproar at the hospital. Dr. Rizwan and his staff shut down the facility and fled. The family recorded a video of the woman crying and accusing Rizwan directly, plus footage of the closed hospital.

The family filed a complaint at Manglaur Kotwali, leading police to register a case against Dr. Rizwan. He was arrested that Sunday night. Rural SP Shekhar Chandra Suyal confirmed the arrest, with investigation ongoing.

7. Khandwa, MP: Prior Rape Accused Tasleem Threatens Victim’s Family

Tasleem, previously accused in a 2016-17 rape case, raped a poor tribal woman in Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh, on February 2, 2026. His family, linked to a political party, threatened the victim’s kin to withdraw the complaint and demanded transfer of the station in-charge and chowki in-charge within 15 days. The accused was arrested.

8. Delhi: SC Stays Eviction of Pakistani Hindu Families

Pakistani Hindu families at Majnu ka Tila, Delhi, faced eviction despite Indian citizenship under CAA on February 2, 2026. The Supreme Court stayed the eviction and directed the Centre to decide rehabilitation within 4 weeks.

10. Hindu Man Assaulted in Koppal After Being Seen With Muslim Woman

On 3 February 2026, a Hindu man was assaulted in Koppal district, Karnataka, after being seen in public with a Muslim woman. The incident occurred at a local bus stand and led to police action and arrests.

The victim, identified as Venkatesh, is a Hindu resident of Basapattana village. According to reports, he had been a neighbour of a Muslim family, including Azmeer and his wife Afia, for around fifteen years. After a domestic dispute between Azmeer and Afia, Azmeer reportedly asked Venkatesh to help persuade Afia, who had left with her children, to return home. Acting on this request, Venkatesh accompanied Afia and her children to the bus stand as they were preparing to travel to her mother’s house.

At the bus stand, a group of Muslim youths confronted Venkatesh after seeing him with Afia and her children. They accused him of having an illicit relationship with the woman and assaulted him despite attempts by local residents, who were familiar with both families, to clarify the situation. During the attack, Venkatesh was beaten and his mobile phone and cash were taken. He later filed a complaint with the police.

The accused were identified as four Muslim youths, including Azmeer, Khajafeer, and Indrawali. Based on the victim’s complaint, police registered a case under sections related to robbery and kidnapping and arrested the accused.

11. OTT Film Announcement Sparks Allegations of Stereotyping Against Brahmin Community

On 3 February 2026, Hindu sentiments were criticised following the announcement by Netflix India of an upcoming film titled Ghooskhor Pandat. The film is directed by Neeraj Pandey and features actor Manoj Bajpayee in the role of a corrupt police officer.

The title of the film combines the word “ghooskhor,” meaning bribe-taker, with “Pandat/Pandit,” a term commonly associated with Hindu priests and the Brahmin community. Critics and social media users argued that the title framed a caste and religious identifier as synonymous with corruption, thereby stereotyping and denigrating the Brahmin community within Hindu society.

12. Wedding Clash in Gujarat Misreported as Caste Atrocity, Police Cite Personal Dispute

On 1 February 2026, a wedding ceremony in Chadrumana hamlet of Patan district, Gujarat, turned violent after the groom was attacked during the festivities. Soon after the incident, several media outlets and social media users portrayed it as a caste-based atrocity, claiming that a Dalit groom was assaulted by members of a dominant or upper caste for riding a horse during the procession.

Various Media reports, stating “Dalit Groom Attacked With Swords For Riding Horse In Gujarat,” framed the incident as caste oppression. Similar narratives were echoed by other channels and amplified on social media. Some commentators mocked Hindu society and suggested the incident reflected entrenched caste discrimination, while others used it to advance ideological claims and policy demands.

Police investigations later clarified that the incident did not involve a dominant caste attacking a Dalit groom. According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Paresh J Renuka, the clash occurred between members of the Dalit community and the Thakor community, which is classified as Other Backward Class in Gujarat. The Thakors are part of the Koli caste group and are not categorised as a dominant or general caste.

13. Hindu Student Harassed and Threatened in Chikkaballapur

On 3 February 2026, an incident of harassment and intimidation was reported in Chikkaballapur, Karnataka, involving a Hindu male student and a Muslim female student. The two were walking together in a public place when they were confronted by two Muslim youths.

The victim is a Hindu boy whose identity has not been publicly disclosed. According to reports, he and the Muslim girl were classmates studying at the same college. The girl was wearing a burqa at the time of the incident. While the two students were walking together, they were approached by the youths, who questioned and threatened the Hindu boy for being in the company of a Muslim girl. A video of the confrontation was recorded by the accused during the incident.

The perpetrators were identified as two Muslim youths. They allegedly engaged in moral policing, verbally harassed the students, intimidated the Hindu boy, and questioned him about his association with the Muslim girl. Following the incident, the matter came to the attention of the police. Police took the two accused into custody, and an investigation was ongoing at the time of reporting.

14. Ghatampur Minor Girl Exploitation Case

In Ghatampur, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, a minor Hindu girl was lured into a relationship at age 16 by Amir Zaidi, son of Haider Ali, who sexually exploited her and recorded private videos for blackmail over a prolonged period. Fearing public shaming, the victim remained silent until February 2026, when her marriage was finalized within her Hindu caste, prompting intensified harassment from the accused.

Amir Zaidi, along with associates Shani alias Sunny Abbas, Rizvi, and Raja alias Akhtar Ansari, pressured her to convert to Islam, threatening to viral the videos on social media and distribute obscene letters in her Hindu community to defame her. The group visited her prospective in-laws’ house, disseminated such letters neighborhood-wide, and intimidated her future husband with life threats, destabilizing the marriage.

The victim then filed a police complaint, leading to a case under IPC provisions; police detained Amir Zaidi for interrogation and launched raids for the others. Ghatampur ACP Krishnakant Yadav confirmed custody and ongoing proceedings on February 3, 2026. The victim is a minor female of unknown caste; perpetrators are four Muslim males.

15. Hindu Student Killed in Bangladesh After University Admission Success

A Hindu student in Bangladesh was killed shortly after achieving first position in the Dhaka University admission test, triggering concern and outrage over the safety of religious minorities in the country. According to reports in local media, the student had recently secured top rank in the competitive examination before being murdered in what has been described by observers as a targeted attack.

The killing has intensified fears within the Hindu community, with commentators and civil society groups pointing to a broader pattern of violence, harassment, and intimidation faced by Hindus in Bangladesh in recent years. Rights activists have stated that such incidents highlight serious concerns regarding minority security and gaps in law enforcement and accountability.

16. Kanpur: Hindu woman murdered by Muslim husband three months after marriage, mother alleges dowry harassment

A Hindu woman was allegedly murdered by her Muslim husband within three months of their marriage in Kanpur city, Uttar Pradesh. The incident took place on Monday, 2 February 2026, in a rented house where the couple was living.

The victim, identified as Deepika Saini, had married Shoaib Khan, also known as Saurabh Dubey, in what was described as a love marriage. Shoaib worked as a truck driver and usually stayed in Ahmedabad for work. He returned to Kanpur on Sunday, 1 February.

According to local residents, loud arguments and screams were heard from the couple’s house on Monday afternoon. The commotion continued for a long time before abruptly stopping, which raised suspicion among neighbours. When they entered the house, Deepika was found lying unconscious on the bed with visible rope marks around her neck.

The neighbours informed Deepika’s mother, who reached the spot along with other relatives. By the time the family attempted to contact the police, the accused had fled. Police and a forensic team later arrived at the scene, collected evidence, and sent the body for post-mortem examination.

Deepika’s mother has accused Shoaib of harassing her daughter over dowry and killing her. Police officials said further action would be taken after the registration of the complaint and receipt of the post-mortem report.

17. Rae Bareli: Muslim Woman Accused of Holding Hindu Man Captive for Four Years, Forcing Circumcision and Religious Conversion

A Hindu man from Rae Bareli district in Uttar Pradesh has alleged that he was held captive for nearly four years by a Muslim woman and her family, during which he was subjected to physical torture, forced circumcision, and religious conversion.

According to the complaint, the victim, Bhupendra Pratap Chauhan, had been working in Dubai since 2019. In 2021, he came into contact with a Muslim woman named Rukhsar, a resident of Rae Bareli. The two began communicating regularly, after which she allegedly lured him into a relationship and repeatedly asked him to visit Rae Bareli.

The victim stated that when he returned to India in 2022, Rukhsar called him to her residence, where he was allegedly confined in a room and held captive. He claimed that he was kept locked inside the house, assaulted repeatedly, and subjected to severe physical abuse, including having his fingernails forcibly pulled out and being given electric shocks.

According to the complaint, Rukhsar and her family pressured him to convert to Islam. When he refused, he was allegedly forcibly circumcised and made to undergo religious conversion. A cleric was reportedly called to perform a nikah ceremony with Rukhsar, and the victim’s name was also changed. Even after this, he alleged that he continued to be held captive and was not allowed to move freely.

The victim said that he managed to escape from the house on 30 January 2026 and returned to his family, where he narrated the ordeal. Following this, a complaint was lodged with the police.

18. Guwahati, Assam: Amrin Akhtar Abuses Domestic Worker

Amrin Akhtar repeatedly abused a 13-year-old domestic worker in Guwahati, Assam. The girl, employed for six years, was hidden in a divan storage box. She was rescued during an investigation after being confined for about 25 minutes.

19. Vasai East, Maharashtra: Sahil Kasim and Hussain Harass Minor Girl

Sahil Kasim and Hussain harassed a 12-year-old minor Hindu girl in Vasai East, Maharashtra. They asked her, “What’s your rate?” The horrified child ran home, after which they entered her house and attacked her. Despite complaints, no strict action has been taken.

20. Hindu Family Attacked in Yadgir Over Social Media Post Showing Saffron Flag

On 4 February 2026, a Hindu family was assaulted in Putpak village of Gurumitkal taluk, Yadgir district, Karnataka, following a social media post that depicted saffron flags put up in the village during preparations for the Hindu festival of Mahashivaratri. The incident occurred amid Mahapuja activities conducted by Shivamala devotees, during which saffron flags and buntings were displayed as part of religious observances.

The victims were identified as Ramesh, Tirupati, and their mother Nagamma. According to reports, after one of the family members shared a photograph of the saffron flags on social media, members of the local Muslim community alleged that the image showed a saffron flag placed on top of a mosque. Acting on this claim, a group of Muslim youths went to the Hindu youth’s residence and assaulted him. When his mother intervened and questioned their actions, she was also attacked. Another family member who attempted to stop the assault was similarly injured, resulting in serious injuries to the family.

21. Hindu Temple Vandalised in Faridpur, Bangladesh

In the Faridpur district of Bangladesh, a Hindu temple was vandalised and multiple idols were desecrated during the night of 3 February 2026. The incident took place at the Malopara Sarbojanin Sri Sri Ma Kali Temple in the Bhatilakshipur area, sometime between 12:30 am and 4:30 am, after devotees had dispersed following the conclusion of a seven-day religious programme.

According to members of the temple committee, unknown miscreants entered the temple premises and damaged five idols. The hands of the idol of Goddess Saraswati were broken, the face of the idol of Goddess Ganga was damaged, and the hands of two other idols were smashed. An idol of Gour Nitai made of thermocol, placed within the temple complex, was completely destroyed. The vandalism disrupted regular worship and caused distress among local devotees.

Nimai Chandra Malo, president of the temple committee, stated that around 70 Hindu families live in the surrounding area. He also noted that the same temple was vandalised on the same date the previous year, when the culprits were identified using CCTV footage. This time, although cameras were installed, technical failures rendered them non-functional, preventing identification of the attackers. He expressed concern over the safety of the local Hindu community and urged authorities to take swift action.

22. Mauganj Suicide Case: Muslim Neighbour Javed Ansari Arrested for Allegedly Harassing Hindu Girl

Madhya Pradesh police have arrested Javed Ansari, also known as Shalu Ansari, in connection with the alleged abetment of suicide of a Hindu girl in the Naigarhi police station area of Mauganj district. The accused had been absconding for several weeks and was taken into custody on Monday, 2 February, before being produced in court and sent to judicial custody.

According to police officials, the case came to light on 10 January when Rambahadur Singh, a resident of Ward No. 13 in Naigarhi, informed authorities that his daughter had died by suicide after hanging herself. Javed Ansari, a Muslim man and neighbour of the victim, was named in the complaint as the primary accused.

Investigations revealed that Ansari had allegedly been harassing the girl for an extended period. Police said he used to stalk her while she went to coaching classes and had threatened to circulate objectionable videos, which caused her severe mental distress. Friends of the victim reportedly told investigators that she appeared constantly stressed and anxious in the days leading up to her death.

The victim’s family stated that preparations were underway for her marriage. However, on the day of the incident, she was found hanging and was rushed to the community health centre, where doctors declared her dead.

23. Pilibhit, UP: Stone Pelting After Dispute at Shop

A person from Muslim community sparked a dispute with a Hindu shopkeeper over buying a cigarette in Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh. The person returned with others in a car, targeted abuses at the shopkeeper, and argument escalated into stone pelting from both sides near a railway track. A few were injured by stones. Police arrived and took the situation under control; no complaints filed.

24. Faridabad, Haryana: Anjani Devi, Riyazul Murder Husband Suman

Anjani Devi and lover Riyazul murdered husband Suman in Faridabad, Haryana. After Suman learned of their affair, they lured him near railway tracks, made him consume alcohol, and bludgeoned his head with stones. They dumped the body on tracks to stage a train accident; mutilated remains found the next day. Both accused arrested.

25. Kotdwar, Uttarakhand: Usman Molests Hindu Girl Amid Communal Tension

Usman molested a Hindu girl in Kotdwar, Uttarakhand by repeatedly calling and messaging her, then grabbed her hand in the market and abused her when she protested. Incident happened amid communal tension over a shop named “Baba”. Local police arrested Usman on her complaint and sent him to jail.

26. Ahmedabad, Gujarat: Arman Mohammad Rapes, Kidnaps 16-Year-Old Girl

Arman Mohammad raped and kidnapped a 16-year-old girl in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Contact began 1.5 years ago via Free Fire game, shifted to WhatsApp. He raped her at home when alone, then abducted her from Kalupur Railway Station by train to West Bengal. She was rescued at Kharagpur Railway Station and reunited with family. Accused arrested.

27. ‘Love Jihad’ Cases with Sex Videos of Hundreds of Hindu Girls in KGMU

A social media post reported multiple ‘Love Jihad’ cases from the last month. In the KGMU case, sex videos of 20 Hindu girls were recovered from accused mobile phones. The Mirzapur Zym case involved sex videos of 80 Hindu girls, while the Basti case had sex videos of 300 Hindu girls.

28. Anti-Hindu Video Circulates in Bihar, Glorifying Aurangzeb and Making Derogatory Claims Against Brahmins

An anti-Hindu video circulated widely on social media in Bihar on 5 February 2026, triggering outrage among Hindu communities. The video featured a Muslim man identified as Mohammad Tajuddin, who made derogatory and false statements about Hindu Brahmins and praised Mughal ruler Aurangzeb while discussing historical events.

In the video, Tajuddin claimed that Aurangzeb demolished Hindu temples because Brahmin priests allegedly committed sexual crimes inside temples. He specifically referred to events in Mathura in the late 17th century, alleging that the demolition of the Keshavdev temple followed the rape and murder of a woman inside the temple and blamed Brahmin priests for the incident. He also spoke about the Gyanvapi site, asserting that Aurangzeb ordered demolitions to prevent Hindu-Muslim conflict, presenting these claims as historical facts and urging viewers to consult Mughal-era texts.

Mohammad Tajuddin was identified as the individual who recorded and circulated the video. He appeared alone in the footage and was responsible for making the statements and historical claims that drew public criticism. No arrests or official action had been confirmed at the time of writing.

29. Hindu Man Assaulted Near Deva Sharif Dargah in Barabanki

On 5 February 2026, a Hindu man was assaulted near the Deva Sharif Dargah in Deva town of Barabanki district, Uttar Pradesh. The incident occurred when the victim accompanied his Muslim neighbour to the dargah to offer a chadar. While the woman entered the shrine, the man remained outside near local shops.

The victim, identified as Harish Sharma, a resident of Dasharabad, was stopped by a Muslim shopkeeper near the dargah. According to accounts, the shopkeeper addressed him using the term “Oye Pandit” and began slapping him. Harish Sharma was then grabbed by the neck, physically assaulted, and dragged to a nearby roadside shop. Water was poured over his head, and the tilak on his forehead was deliberately washed off while he was restrained and subjected to further assault. The incident was recorded on video, which later circulated on social media.

Ayesha Bano, the victim’s neighbour who was present at the site, stated that the assault took place in front of her and confirmed that the tilak was forcibly removed. Harish Sharma later reported that he was abused, humiliated, and treated with hostility. He subsequently submitted a written complaint at Deva police station.

30. Ujjain Muslim Grooming Gang Horror: Dalit Teen Rescued from Burqa in Indore, POCSO Arrests Made

A 15-year-old Dalit girl from Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, went missing on February 2 from the Chimanganj Mandi police station area. She was rescued within 48 hours from Indore, where an underage Muslim boy had disguised her in a burqa and hidden her at a relative’s residence, with assistance from his friend Moin and others.

The victim, a minor from the area, had been lured into a romantic relationship by the Muslim youth, who brainwashed her and involved friends in the matter. WhatsApp conversations revealed the grooming, and CCTV footage captured the incident. Police raided multiple sites in Indore, recovered the girl on February 4, recorded her statement late that night, and conducted a medical examination.

Authorities arrested the Muslim boy and Moin under POCSO and JJ Acts, filing a rape case based on her account. The Hindu Jagran Manch described the case as following a “grooming gang pattern,” alleging a conspiracy involving religious conversion, though police stated the matter remains under investigation. Action against all involved is promised.

The incident took place in the Kachhiyantola area, behind the Neelkanth Temple, in the bushes of the Barmasiya locality.

According to police officials, they received information from an informer during night patrolling about two men slaughtering a cow at the location. Acting on the tip-off, the police called for additional personnel and immediately conducted a raid. On spotting the police team, both accused attempted to flee. One was apprehended at the spot, while the other managed to escape due to darkness and dense bushes.

The arrested accused was identified as Mohammad Ansar Ansari, aged 40, a resident of Bhutahi Tola under Budhar police station limits. During interrogation, he disclosed the identity of his accomplice as Ajju Ansari, a resident of Singhpur under Singhpur police station, who is currently absconding.

A Hindu woman from Shahdol district alleged that Ajju Ansari had stolen her cow, slaughtered it, and sold the meat to biryani shops in the area. She stated that she had raised the cow like a family member and became emotional while narrating the incident to authorities.

Police officials said a formal identification panchnama of the slaughtered cow was prepared at the scene. Several items were seized during the operation, including two nylon ropes, two sharp iron knives, a TVS Victor motorcycle, a Bajaj Platina motorcycle, and a Vivo Android mobile phone.

The case involved the sharing of a video that showed a Muslim YouTuber reciting the kalma in front of a Hindu deity. The video was posted as a WhatsApp status and subsequently circulated, leading to public outrage.

The accused was identified by police as Dadapir Hebballi, aged 27, a resident of Noorani Flats in Hubballi, who worked as an auto driver. According to police statements, he deliberately shared the video on his WhatsApp status. Authorities stated that the content was considered objectionable as it was perceived to mock or disrespect Hindu religious beliefs.

Taking suo motu cognisance of the matter, the Old Hubballi police registered a case against the accused. He was arrested and produced before a court, which remanded him to judicial custody. Police officials stated that the action was taken to prevent communal tension, noting Hubballi’s past incidents of unrest linked to provocative social media content.

37. Plastic Bag Containing Meat Thrown Inside Hindu Temple in Ballari

On the morning of 6 February 2026, a plastic bag containing pieces of meat and bones was found inside the premises of the Veera Balanjaneya Temple in the Nagalakeri locality of Ballari city, Karnataka. The bag was discovered by the temple priest around 5.45 am, who informed the police immediately. Police officials stated that the bag appeared to have been thrown into the temple premises before the priest’s arrival. The bag was removed, and a criminal case was registered at the Cowl Bazaar police station.

The incident led to the gathering of Hindu devotees and local residents at the temple, with many expressing concern that the act was intended to insult religious sentiments. Police deployed additional personnel in the area to maintain law and order. Senior officials, including the Ballari Range IGP and the Assistant Superintendent of Police, visited the site, appealed for calm, and assured that a transparent investigation was underway. BJP leaders and Hindu activists referred to previous similar incidents in the district and stated that the temple’s compound wall appeared to have been crossed to throw the bag inside. Police indicated that the meat was believed to be beef, though no forensic confirmation had been made at that stage.

The Veera Balanjaneya Temple is an ancient shrine housing idols of Lord Hanuman, Lord Venkateshwara, Lord Ayyappa, and Lord Shiva, and holds significant religious importance, particularly during Vaikunta Ekadashi, when large numbers of devotees visit.

38. Muzaffarnagar: Six Muslim youths arrested for cheating while posing as Hindu sadhus

Police in Muzaffarnagar district arrested six Muslim youths who were allegedly cheating people while posing as Hindu sadhus. The accused were moving around in saffron attire, claiming to predict the future by reading palms, primarily targeting women. During the arrests, police recovered fake Aadhaar cards bearing Hindu names and religious items used to mislead people.

According to police officials, the accused were identified as Shakeel, Shaukeen, Iqbal, Sajeel, Ayyub, and Haneesh. Their real identities came to light during sustained interrogation after they were taken into custody. The group was allegedly using Hindu religious symbols and puja materials to strengthen their disguise and gain trust.

Police stated that six fake Aadhaar cards were recovered from the accused. These documents carried Hindu names such as Rajveer, Satya, Ramu, Ramesh, Sadi, and Kalu, with addresses listed from Kutubpur village in the Mirapur area. The documents were allegedly used to conceal their identities while carrying out the cheating.

Investigations revealed that the accused were living in a rented room in Kutubpur village and were operating their activities from there. Police said the group allegedly deceived villagers by predicting futures and collected money under false pretences. Further legal action in the matter is underway.

The victim, Vijay Kumar Rathore, 32, a resident of Raipur village, stated in his complaint that certain individuals in the village had been propagating Christianity for several days and were attempting to induce Hindus to convert. According to his statement, he was offered assurances of relief from illnesses, peace in his household, and financial assistance ranging from two to two and a half lakh rupees for his children’s education in exchange for adopting Christianity. He further alleged that regular prayer meetings were held every Saturday, where prayers for healing were used as part of these efforts.

On the day of the incident, Vijay Kumar Rathore arrived at the prayer meeting along with the village sarpanch’s husband, the deputy sarpanch’s husband, and other villagers to protest against the conversion activities. During this confrontation, he was allegedly assaulted, resulting in internal injuries to his back. Several villagers gathered at the spot and intervened. The victim also reported that he was threatened with death if such meetings were opposed in the future.

On 7 February 2026, an incident involving alleged attempts at religious conversion was reported from Gurur town in Durg district, Chhattisgarh. The activity came to the attention of local authorities, following which the Nagar Panchayat intervened and halted the programme while it was underway.

The matter was subsequently brought to the police by Nagar Panchayat President Pradeep Sahu, along with members of local Hindu organisations. A complaint was filed, seeking a formal inquiry and strict action against those involved in organising the meeting. Police officials stated that the complaint had been received and that the matter was being examined.

According to the complaint filed by the victim, she came into contact with Sahil in 2023 through Snapchat. Sahil allegedly introduced himself as a Hindu Jat and claimed to be a devotee of Neem Karoli Baba, after which he gradually drew the woman into a relationship by promising marriage.

The victim alleged that Sahil repeatedly sexually assaulted her during the relationship. She stated that she became pregnant multiple times, but each time, Sahil forcibly made her undergo abortions against her will. She also accused him of taking thousands of rupees and gold jewellery from her during this period.

According to media reports, the video circulated rapidly across local WhatsApp groups and Facebook, leading to strong reactions from members of the Hindu community. Several Hindu organisations stated that the remarks were deeply offensive and accused the individual of deliberately attempting to provoke religious sentiments and spread social discord.

Following the circulation of the video, representatives of Hindu groups demanded immediate police action and warned of protests if strict legal measures were not taken. In response, local police increased security in the area to prevent any escalation of tensions.

49. Russia: Four Indian Medical Students Injured in Knife Attack by Neo-Nazi Teenager at Ufa University

Four Indian medical students were injured in a knife attack at a university dormitory in Ufa, the capital of the Bashkortostan Republic in Russia, on Saturday, 7 February. The incident was confirmed by the Indian Embassy in Russia, which said it is monitoring the situation and is in contact with Russian authorities. A 15-year-old boy has been detained in connection with the attack.

In a statement posted on X, the Indian Embassy said that four Indian students were injured in the attack and that officials from the Consulate of India in Kazan had been sent to Ufa to provide assistance to the injured students. The embassy added that it remains in touch with local authorities regarding the case.

According to the Russian Federal Health Ministry, all injured individuals are receiving medical treatment, and one of the Indian students is reported to be in critical condition.

The Russian Interior Ministry said the attacker, armed with a knife, entered a dormitory of the State Medical University in Ufa and stabbed several people. Subin Alexander and Berlin Das allegedly gang-raped a spa employee in Thiruvalla, Kerala, after the owner refused a Rs 50,000 extortion demand.
