1. Hindu family threatened with death after objecting to derogatory posts targeting Hindu deities in Maharajganj
In Maharajganj, Uttar Pradesh, unidentified individuals from Jagdishpur village, under Bhitauli police station, posted objectionable comments targeting Hindu deities on Facebook. The remarks were posted on the Facebook account of Reshma Devi’s son, a Hindu resident of the Mithaura police station area.
After the family objected to the remarks, a large number of individuals reached their residence on 13 July 2026 and threatened them with death. Reshma Devi stated that her son, who was employed in Dubai at the time, also received serious threats through social media in connection with the incident.
Following the threats, Rashtriya Bajrang Dal District President Vishal Pushkar submitted a memorandum to the Superintendent of Police, Maharajganj, seeking legal action against those responsible, an FIR under the applicable provisions, protection for the family, and action over the use of social media to spread religious hostility. Police stated that the matter was under investigation and that further action would be taken according to the applicable legal process.
2. Hindu family mandir vandalised, murtis desecrated and donation box cash stolen in Lalmonirhat, Bangladesh

4. Former DMK MP criticised for remarks on Hindu religious tradition in Chikkamagaluru
Former DMK MP Senthil Kumar criticised a traditional Hindu religious practice associated with the Sringeri Sharada Peetham Jagadguru Sri Sri Vidushekhara Bharati Sannidhanam. He shared a video showing the Acharya arriving at a mandir, where a disciple placed the Acharya’s padukas on the ground before he wore them and proceeded for worship.
Commenting on the practice, Senthil Kumar said on social media that opposing such practices was what “Dravidianism” stood for and that anyone with “even a drop of self-respect” would never permit such an act. 5. Economically vulnerable Hindu villagers targeted for conversion to Christianity in Sidhi
In Sidhi, Madhya Pradesh, poor and vulnerable Hindu villagers from remote areas were targeted by Christian missionaries with promises of financial assistance, medical benefits and other inducements to convert to Christianity.

8. Hindu schoolgirl abducted by Muslim man posing as Hindu in Meerut
In Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, a Class 12 Hindu schoolgirl was lured and abducted by a Muslim man identified as Moinuddin, who posed as a Hindu. According to her family, Moinuddin had created an Instagram account using the Hindu name “Mannu Ji Bansal” and befriended the girl through the account. He was also seen wearing a kalava, a sacred Hindu thread, in photographs examined during the investigation.
The girl’s father lodged a complaint at Bhavanpur Police Station, following which police registered a case and formed multiple teams to trace her. Police examined digital evidence, including the accused’s Instagram account, call records and other technical inputs. Technical surveillance indicated that the mobile locations of both Moinuddin and the girl were in Indore, prompting police teams to conduct searches there. Police also searched locations in Rajasthan and questioned the accused’s family members.
Following the girl’s disappearance, office-bearers of several Hindu organisations reached Bhavanpur Police Station and demanded her immediate recovery. The victim’s family also repeatedly approached the police and senior officials, expressing concern for her safety.
Meerut Rural Superintendent of Police Abhijeet Singh said that several police teams were conducting raids based on technical evidence to recover the girl and arrest the accused, and that efforts to trace both remained ongoing.
9. Hindu devotees attacked and vehicle vandalised while travelling to mandir in Gaibandha, Bangladesh

The hill, historically known as Lingamalai because of its association with the Shiv Linga, was also referred to as “Saveriyar Malai”, meaning St. Xavier’s Hill, after Christian missionary St. Francis Xavier.
The matter came to light after Hindu Munnani submitted a petition to the Pudukkottai District Collector. The organisation stated that the hill was home to a 400-year-old Shiv mandir and that approximately 300 acres of mandir land, under the Forest Department’s control in the mandir’s name, had been illegally transferred through pattas, encroached upon and converted into plots for sale by Christians.
Hindu Munnani further stated that murtis of Bhagwan Shiv and Mata Amman inside the mandir had been vandalised and broken, while Hindu devotees visiting the mandir were threatened and intimidated. The organisation also stated that a Christian cross had been installed atop Lingamalai for around ten years and that the hill was being referred to as “Saveriyar Malai”.

In Khurja city of Bulandshahr district, Uttar Pradesh, an unidentified person removed the murti of Bhagwan Shanidev from a small shrine outside the Shri Navdurga Shakti Mandir complex and threw it into a nearby drain.

14. Hindu doctor shot dead in broad daylight in Karachi after handing over money to armed robbers, Pakistan
In Karachi, Pakistan, Hindu doctor Dr Akash Kumar was shot dead in broad daylight during an armed robbery, despite having handed over the money demanded by the assailants. He was travelling with his father and cousin near the Teen Talwar area after withdrawing cash from a bank when armed men intercepted their vehicle.
According to his family, the attackers demanded money and opened fire after the cash was handed over, shooting Dr Kumar multiple times in the chest. He succumbed to his injuries shortly afterwards.

Vat Savitri Puja is a Hindu religious observance during which married women fast and tie sacred threads around a banyan tree while praying for the long life, health and prosperity of their husbands. A video of the incident later circulated on social media, showing the teacher using scissors to cut the threads.
Local Hindu residents said the teacher had initially attempted to cut the threads with a blade and returned the following day with scissors. They said they objected to her actions, but she continued cutting the threads. The incident triggered anger among local Hindus, while Hindu organisations demanded action and a fair investigation.
School Principal Madhusudan Ram claimed that the teacher was mentally unstable and said complaints regarding her conduct had previously been submitted to education authorities on three occasions. He also that she was irregular in attending school and had marked her attendance online before leaving the premises on several occasions. Aspur Deosara Police Station registered FIR No. 192/2026 under Sections 76, 333, 352 and 351(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, along with Sections 3 and 5(1) of the Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Act, 2021. The investigation was assigned to Sub-Inspector Sanjay Kumar.

18. Hindu religious event disrupted in Ghazipur, Hanuman murti thrown into drain

The children were taken by bus from Udaipur to Ahmedabad and subsequently boarded a train bound for Goa. They were being transported further to Tamil Nadu when railway officials and the Goa Child Welfare Committee intervened and rescued them.
During questioning, the children provided details about their villages, enabling the Goa Child Welfare Committee to contact authorities in Udaipur. They also stated that they had been made to attend church in Jhadol. A joint team of Udaipur Police and the Child Welfare Committee subsequently travelled to Goa and brought all seven children back to Udaipur on 18 July.
The investigation identified more than 15 similar cases involving children from Udaipur and neighbouring villages who were lured and sent to Tamil Nadu through a similar method. Udaipur MP Dr Mannalal Rawat said comparable cases had earlier been reported from Kanuwara, Bichhiwara and Kalinjara. He stated that after increased public awareness made such activities more difficult, those involved changed their method and began attracting poor tribal children by offering free education.
Dr Rawat also stated that the tribal children were being manipulated and that those supporting conversion justified it by claiming that tribals were not Hindus. He described the conversion of poor tribals through manipulation as a serious issue that needed to be stopped.

A Hindu family in the Purba Swaramngal (Tekerhat) area of Rajoir Upazila in Madaripur district, Bangladesh, was attacked at their residence on the night of 15 July 2026 amid a dispute over ancestral land. A group of men identified as Md. Selim Sheikh, Md. Chanowar Hossain, Md. Chobahan Dhali, Md. Jahangir Munshi, Md. Sohel Munshi and several others entered the property, vandalised the house and assaulted family members.
Mukti Bhattacharya was seriously injured after being assaulted with sharp weapons and physical force. She later broadcast the incident live on Facebook while covered in blood and seeking help. Gold ornaments and cash were also reportedly looted from the house. The attackers threatened to kill the family if they did not vacate the property within three days.
The family said the dispute concerned their ancestral land and that a court case over the property was already pending, with a High Court stay order reportedly in force. Despite this, attempts were made to forcibly occupy the land. Following the attack, Mukti Bhattacharya was admitted to Rajoir Upazila Health Complex for treatment.

Her family later learnt that Manawar had taken her to Shivgadi Mandir, where he attempted to marry her by applying vermilion to her forehead while presenting himself as a Hindu. Her mother also that the accused had taken the girl to Ranchi on 29 June, where he repeatedly harassed and sexually exploited her.
A burqa was reportedly found on the scooter used by the accused. People at the Shivgadi Mandir noticed the marriage ritual and informed the mandir management committee, which reviewed CCTV footage and alerted Barhet police.
23. Leftist comedian Kunal Kamra makes remarks about Hindu deities during protest in Delhi
During a protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on 15 July 2026, stand-up comedian and political satirist Kunal Kamra made remarks about Bhagwan Ram and Mata Sita while criticising the Central Government. A video of the remarks circulated on social media the same day.

A Hindu student of an Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Seoni, Madhya Pradesh, has that her Muslim classmate, Sohail Khan, also known as Wahid Khan, pressured her to convert to Islam and marry him through nikah. The complaint was submitted to the Women’s Police Station and Kotwali Police Station in Seoni on 15 July 2026.
The student that Sohail had initially befriended her but later repeatedly contacted her through WhatsApp, followed her and obstructed her while she travelled to the ITI. She further that he pressured her to convert to Islam and threatened to kill her and her family when she refused. She stated that she approached the police seeking legal action after being subjected to continued harassment.
The complaint came to light after a video circulated showing some individuals assaulting Sohail in a field near Kheritek in the Dhunda Seoni police station area. The incident was reportedly linked to a dispute described as a love affair. Following the circulation of the video, the student came forward and detailed her allegations against Sohail.

25. Hindu lawyer arrested after protesting over Islamic prayers assigned to Hindu child in Hyderabad school
A Hindu advocate and Bharatiya Janata Party leader, K. Karuna Sagar, was arrested by Telangana Police after protesting outside a private school in Saidabad, Hyderabad, over an incident involving a six-year-old Hindu Class II student. The child had reportedly been assigned Islamic prayers, including the Kalma and Surah Al-Fatiha, as homework.
The child’s parents had objected to repeated instructions asking him to learn and recite Islamic prayers and raised the matter with the school principal and teachers. The school initially stated that the homework was intended only for Muslim students who had opted for Islamic religious studies. It later acknowledged a violation and terminated the services of the teacher responsible, Shaikh Aisha Parveen.

In Chennai, Tamil Nadu, Hindu activist Shivji, founder and president of Bharat Hindu Munnani, was assaulted and threatened with death by a mob of around 200 Muslims after he objected to the slaughter of calves.
On 16 July 2026, Shivji lodged a complaint at H-8 Police Station regarding the slaughter of calves and accompanied police personnel to the location. According to the complaint submitted by Bharat Hindu Munnani, information about the police action was conveyed to several Muslim organisations, following which a large group gathered at the spot. Shivji was assaulted in the presence of police, his vehicle was snatched and he was threatened with death.
On 19 July, Bharat Hindu Munnani submitted a detailed complaint to the police seeking action against those involved in the assault and against individuals and organisations it had spread false narratives regarding its opposition to cow slaughter, closure of beef shops and slaughter of calves. The organisation also that some Muslim organisations affiliated with the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) had created a tense atmosphere around the issue.
The organisation demanded strict action from the Chennai Metropolitan Police and stated that Hindu organisations would jointly organise a protest outside the police station if appropriate action was not taken. The complaint and related evidence were shared by Tamil Nadu Bharat Hindu Munnani president R. D. Prabhu.
27. Hindu siblings assaulted and woman pressured to convert to Islam in Barabanki
In the Ramnagar area of Barabanki district, Uttar Pradesh, a Hindu woman was assaulted and pressured to convert to Islam by two Muslim men, identified as Shamim and Salman. Her brother was also assaulted when he went to rescue her.
The woman was reportedly intercepted while travelling to Ganeshpur Market and taken to a house after being assaulted. She that she was confined there and assaulted by several individuals and women, while being pressured to convert to Islam.

The woman submitted a complaint at Ramnagar Police Station and also sent a representation to the Superintendent of Police. Based on her complaint, police registered a case against Shamim, Salman and other unidentified persons and began an investigation. Ramnagar Station House Officer Arun Pratap Singh stated that further legal action would be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
28. Muslim man threatens to bomb Hindu Rath Yatra in Bangladesh

31. Hindu woman assaulted after refusing Muslim man’s demand to convert for marriage in Barabanki
In Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh, a Dalit Hindu woman was lured into a relationship on the promise of marriage by a Muslim man, who later pressured her to convert to Islam. The woman stated in her complaint that she had been in contact with the accused for four to five months before he persuaded her to accompany him on 16 July 2026. She left home carrying a gold ring, a pair of anklets and around Rs 6,500 in cash and was taken to a relative’s house.
According to the complaint, people present at the house told her that the marriage could take place only if she converted to Islam. After she refused, the accused took her into a room and attempted to sexually assault her. She escaped, following which those present assaulted her with kicks, punches and sticks, subjected her to casteist abuse and threatened to kill her. Her family members, who reached the location in search of her, were also assaulted before taking her home. The accused retained the jewellery and cash she had carried.
Ramnagar Police registered an FIR on the basis of her complaint and began an investigation. Police stated that further action would follow after examining the available evidence and recording witness statements. The woman’s identity was withheld to protect her privacy.
32. Jagannath Rath Yatra stopped midway by Mumbai Police despite prior permission

The accused used the Hindu name “Rahul” on Facebook to conceal his identity and lure the girl into a relationship.
The girl was taken to the accused’s residence and held captive for four days. During her disappearance, the accused reportedly visited her family while continuing to pose as “Rahul” and pretended to enquire about her whereabouts. Local Hindu youths became suspicious and followed him to his house, where they found and rescued the girl. She reportedly told them that she had been sexually assaulted, threatened with death and held captive.
Following the rescue, local residents vandalised and set fire to the accused’s house. Police intervened, arrested Nur Hussain and registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012, along with charges of kidnapping.
39. Kali Mata Mandir vandalised, murti damaged in Ballia
An ancient Kali Mata mandir in Sakra hamlet of Tadibada village under the Nagra police station area in Ballia district was vandalised on 17 July, after unidentified miscreants damaged the murti installed inside the mandir.
The incident came to light the following day when villagers arrived for puja and found the murti damaged. The incident caused commotion and tension in the village, with residents demanding the immediate arrest of those responsible. Villagers said the mandir was an important centre of their faith and that beautification and renovation work worth around ₹30 lakh, funded through public contributions, was underway.
Police reached the spot, inspected the mandir and spoke to local residents. Around a dozen villagers submitted a signed complaint to Nagra Police seeking an investigation and early arrest of those responsible. Police said efforts were underway to identify the accused and that legal action would follow.
40. Minor Hindu girl pressured to convert to Islam and threatened with death in Prayagraj
A 15-year-old Hindu girl from Phaphamau, Prayagraj, was lured with a promise of marriage by Mohammad Irfan, a 20-year-old Muslim man from Bahraich, and later pressured to convert to Islam. According to an FIR lodged by the girl’s mother, Janaklali Modanwal, Irfan repeatedly threatened to kill the minor and destroy her family’s life when she refused to convert.
The complainant stated that her shop was located about 100 metres from a biryani shop operated by Sartaj Ali, where Irfan also worked. She that Irfan used multiple Instagram accounts to contact and influence her daughter and had planned to facilitate her conversion. The FIR also named Sartaj Ali, Irfan’s younger brother and his parents as being involved. The complainant further that Irfan issued threats in the presence of the victim’s younger sister and abused and threatened her when she confronted him.
Based on the complaint, a case was registered at Phaphamau Police Station under Sections 352 and 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Sections 3 and 5(1) of the Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Act, 2021. On 17 July 2026, police arrested Mohammad Irfan and Sartaj Ali, aged 20 and 25, respectively, near the road leading from Nav Jeevan Hospital to Bela Kachhar. Both were residents of Fakharpur in Bahraich and were running a biryani shop at Shantipuram Chauraha, Phaphamau. Further legal proceedings were initiated.
41. Hindu woman murdered at home in Bangladesh while family attended Rath Yatra
A 55-year-old Hindu woman, Molina Roy, wife of Ratan Roy, was found murdered inside her four-storey house in the T&T area of Jhalakathi town, Bangladesh, on 17 July 2026. Her family had left the house in the afternoon to participate in the Rath Yatra festival in Bhimruli, Kirtipasha Union. When they returned, they found the main door open and furniture scattered inside the house. During a search, they found Molina Roy’s body wrapped in a sack and concealed inside a room on the ground floor.
Police recovered the body and sent it to Jhalakathi Sadar Hospital for post-mortem examination. Forensic evidence was also collected from the house. According to police and the victim’s family, the assailants may have entered the house with the intention of committing robbery and may have killed Molina Roy after she confronted or resisted them. The exact motive and circumstances of the murder remain under investigation.
42. Muslim yoga teacher removed Hindu students’ tilaks and cut kalavas at Shamli school
At Alpine International School in Jalalabad, Shamli, a Muslim yoga teacher identified as Ajka removed the tilaks from the foreheads of minor Hindu students and cut the kalavas tied around their wrists. The teacher also instructed students not to come to school wearing tilak or kalava, reportedly claiming that wearing the sacred thread was harmful. The matter came to light after the students informed their parents.
The parents, accompanied by ABVP members, protested at the school and demanded action against the teacher. School principal Nirmala Malik summoned the teacher and sought an explanation. The principal also questioned whether the instructions had been issued by the school management, but no such direction was established.
Following the protest and inquiry, the teacher was suspended with immediate effect and the process to remove her from the school was initiated.

43. Hindu man threatened for chanting Bhagwan Ram’s name while pro-Islamic slogans were raised at CJP protest in Delhi
At a protest organised by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) at Jantar Mantar in Delhi, Hindu devotee Manish Pal was threatened by some protesters for chanting the name of Bhagwan Ram. A video of the interaction later surfaced on social media.
Pal told the media that he had come to the protest to spread the message of Bhagwan Ram and was peacefully chanting his name while distributing grains of rice inscribed with “Ram”. He stated that some CJP supporters objected to his activity, told him that the name of Bhagwan Ram would not be allowed there and threatened him for chanting “Ram-Ram”.
At the same protest venue, slogans such as “Sirf Allah ka Naam Rahega” were being raised openly. 44. Man arrested in Shahjahanpur for objectionable remarks against Hindu deities on Facebook
Pankaj, a resident of Udaipur village under Roza Police Station in Bhawalkhera, Shahjahanpur, was arrested on 18 July 2026 for posting objectionable remarks against Hindu gods and mataes on Facebook.
According to police, Pankaj had shared a Facebook post supporting Sonam Wangchuk, who was on a hunger strike in Delhi, while also making objectionable comments about Hindu deities. A screenshot of the post was later shared on X, following which police took cognisance of the matter.
Officer Shubham Verma said the post had the potential to disturb communal harmony. Roza Police arrested Pankaj and initiated legal proceedings under provisions relating to breach of peace. Police also stated that Pankaj apologised for the post and that further legal action would follow.

Referring to the controversy surrounding the theft of donations at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, Malik questioned the significance of the slogan and said, “What was the use of saying ‘Jai Shri Ram’ here? Raise the slogan where the donation money was stolen. If there had been power in ‘Jai Shri Ram’, those sitting there would not have stolen money in front of Bhagwan Ram’s murti.”
During the speech, Malik also criticised the RSS and BJP, accusing them of promoting divisions between Hindus and Muslims. He made remarks concerning the mainstream media and the Supreme Court and spoke about social media as a platform for public discourse.
The remarks were later shared on X by political and social activist Manoj Singh, drawing attention to Malik’s comments about “Jai Shri Ram” and their impact on Hindu religious sentiments.
46. Muslim man spat, urinated, kicked and broke the Shivlinga at Hindu mandir in Hamirpur
In Nauranga village of Hamirpur district, Uttar Pradesh, a Muslim man identified as Hateem spat on the sacred Shivlinga inside a Hindu mandir, urinated on it, kicked it and broke it. A local stated that the accused was under the influence of alcohol at the time.
Villagers caught Hateem at the spot before he could flee and handed him over to the police. Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajeev Pratap Singh said Majhgawan Police received information about the desecration and reached the mandir. Police took the accused into custody following a preliminary investigation.
Based on a complaint by the mandir committee, Majhgawan Police registered a case under relevant legal provisions and initiated further proceedings. Additional police personnel were deployed in the area as a precaution, while the law-and-order situation remained peaceful.
47. Hindu woman raped, recorded and threatened with conversion by Muslim man in Fatehpur
In Fatehpur district, Uttar Pradesh, a Hindu woman that Owaish Raza, son of Anees and a resident of Andauli village under Radhanagar Police Station, raped her, recorded the assault without her consent, threatened to kill her and repeatedly pressured her to convert her religion.
Based on her complaint at Sadar Kotwali Police Station, police registered Crime Case No. 333/2026 under Sections 64, 109(1), 115(2), 352 and 351(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Section 67A of the Information Technology Act.
Police traced Owaish near Madaripur Road on 20 July 2026. According to police, he opened fire at the police team with an illegal .315 bore country-made pistol while attempting to flee. Police returned fire, injuring him in the left leg, following which he was arrested and admitted to District Sadar Hospital. Police recovered a .315 bore country-made pistol, one spent cartridge case and one live cartridge from his possession.
Police stated that a previous criminal case was registered against Owaish at Kotwali Police Station and that his complete criminal history was being examined. After medical treatment and legal formalities, he was to be produced before the competent court.
48. DMK supporter makes casteist remarks against Brahmins and mocks sacred thread in Tamil Nadu
DMK supporter and activist Piyush Manush made casteist remarks against Hindus belonging to the Brahmin community in an Instagram video while criticising Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam MLA and HR&CE Minister Ramesh over the Palani mandir land issue.
In the video, Manush used the derogatory Tamil expression “AAVA; AAVA BUDDHI AH KAMICHUTA; NOOLU”, mocking the sacred thread traditionally worn by Brahmins and some other Hindu communities. He referred to the minister’s “Brahmin colours” and “Brahmin brain” and said mandir administration should not be entrusted to Brahmins, describing such a situation as “dangerous”. His remarks linked Brahmin identity with corruption and misuse of authority.
Reports also cited previous instances in which Manush made caste-based remarks targeting Brahmins, including comments concerning the Podu Dikshitar community of Chidambaram in 2024, individuals associated with Auroville and IIT Madras in 2026, Justice G. R. Swaminathan in 2025 and Kizhakku News founder Badri Seshadri in 2026. No action against him in those instances had reportedly been taken at the time of reporting.
49. Hindu man assaulted by Muslim group in Nalasopara over dispute between children
In Nalasopara, Maharashtra, a Hindu man was dragged and brutally assaulted by more than 15 Muslim men following a minor dispute between children. The victim said the children were crying during the altercation and that no one initially came forward to help him. His wife and another man eventually managed to rescue him.
The victim’s wife that the attackers also threatened her family, saying, “We will chop and throw you, no one will do anything. Did you forget the Tarun Khatik case?” The attackers were reportedly associated with a local Muslim builder who was said to have influence in the area.
Following the incident, members of Hindu organisations demanded strict action against those responsible and warned of protests if the matter was not addressed. The perpetrators remained unidentified at the time of reporting.
The incidents reported between July 13 and July 19, 2026, present a wide range of allegations involving Hindu individuals, families, religious institutions and religious practices. The reported cases span physical attacks, threats, desecration of mandirs and murtis, disruption of religious observances, coercion and inducement for religious conversion, and objectionable content concerning Hindu deities.
The reported incidents also show the varied settings in which such complaints emerged. Mandirs and religious gatherings were among the locations affected, while schools, public protests, residential properties, social media platforms and places of employment also featured in the cases reported during the week.
Several cases involved women and minors, including allegations of abduction, sexual exploitation, threats, harassment and pressure to convert. Other cases concerned economically vulnerable communities and children, with complaints alleging inducement through education, financial assistance or other forms of support.
Bangladesh accounted for several reported incidents involving Hindu mandirs, devotees and families, including vandalism, theft, attacks during religious travel, threats against the Rath Yatra and the murder of a Hindu woman while her family was away attending the festival. The reported cases also included disputes over ancestral property and allegations of pressure on Hindu families to leave their homes.
In India, police and administrative authorities took action in a number of cases through FIRs, arrests, investigations, school-level disciplinary measures and official inquiries. However, several other cases remained under investigation, with perpetrators unidentified or allegations yet to be conclusively established.
Taken together, the incidents reported during the week underline the seriousness of complaints involving religious places, religious symbols, individual safety and freedom of religious practice. The cases also demonstrate the importance of timely investigation, due legal process, protection of victims and accountability wherever allegations are substantiated.
