Delhi, Jan 28, 2026: A 6‑year‑old girl has been gang‑raped by three minor Muslim boys in the Bhajanpura area of Delhi, an incident that has left the child severely injured and triggered outrage among locals, while the family has alleged serious police inaction and that the main accused remains at large. The incident took place on the evening of January 18, 2026, in Bhajanpura. The child’s father, a rickshaw puller, had gone to the market to buy vegetables around 7 p.m., leaving the girl at home. During his absence, three minor boys from the same locality allegedly took the girl and subjected her to gang rape at a nearby factory rooftop.
The father returned and saw one of the accused and his family running away from the area, but did not realize at that time that this person had committed the assault on his daughter. When he reached home, he was informed that his 6‑year‑old daughter had been gang‑raped by the three boys. The girl was found with severe bleeding from her private parts, bite marks on her body, torn clothes, and a badly swollen ear. Her mother recounted that one of the accused brought the child back to the house, holding her in his arms, and falsely claimed she had fallen after an e‑rickshaw accident. When the mother noticed the fresh bleeding from the girl’s private parts and asked why there were no facial or head injuries if she had fallen, the accused left the child there and fled.
The child told her family that three boys had done “bad things” with her, had threatened and silenced her by stuffing cloth into her mouth, and had assaulted her like animals. She was taken to the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital in more distressed condition and later shifted to another hospital.
The mother, instead of going straight to the hospital, first took the child to the Jafrabad police station, where she lodged a complaint detailing the gang rape by the three minors. Jafrabad police registered a case based on the mother’s complaint. Police proceeded to the crime scene, a factory rooftop and walls near the family’s house, where bloodstains were found splattered on the walls and roof. 20. Aligarh murder case: Twinkle Sharma’s mother alleges co‑accused Aslam earlier raped his 4‑year‑old daughter
Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, June 2, 2019: In the case of the murder of two‑and‑a‑half‑year‑old girl Twinkle Sharma in Tappal, Aligarh, her mother, Shilpa Sharma, has alleged that co‑accused Aslam had earlier raped his own four‑year‑old daughter, prompting the child’s mother to take her away to her parental home.
The incident that brought the case to light occurred when Twinkle’s decomposed and mutilated body was found on June 2, 2019, in a garbage dump near her home, after she had gone missing on May 31. Police later arrested main accused Zahid and his associate Aslam, and the duo were booked under the National Security Act and other relevant sections. Twinkle’s family stated that the main accused, Zahid, had lent them Rs 10,000 and had threatened them over the debt just before the child went missing. Police investigations revealed that Zahid lured Twinkle to Aslam’s house and killed her; her body was then wrapped in a dupatta and dumped in the garbage.
The family’s appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for the death penalty for the accused was accompanied by the allegation that Aslam, before this case, had sexually assaulted his own minor daughter. The autopsy report on Twinkle did not confirm rape, but concluded that she died of “shock due to ante‑mortem injuries” sustained during a prolonged beating.
Aligarh SSP Akash Kulhary said the case was being treated as an NSA matter so that it could be taken to a fast‑track court. The family has expressed ongoing concern for their safety, especially in the event that the accused are ever released.
When viewed together, the reported cases from 2019 to 2026 present a consistent pattern of serious crimes against very young children, showing the gravity of sexual offences involving minors. The recurrence of such incidents across different regions indicates that child sexual violence remains a critical issue requiring continuous monitoring and effective preventive mechanisms.
The legal proceedings associated with these cases demonstrate the role of statutory frameworks such as the POCSO Act in addressing crimes against children.
