In an overarching resolve to defend and protect the national security architecture, the Indian Army is on a relentless mission to neutralise the terrorists in Kashmir who infiltrate into India from Pakistan. In the latest encounter, the Indian Army, CRPF personnel and the J&K Police, in a joint search and hunt operation, have eliminated three terrorists in Kashmir who were affiliated to Jaish-e-Mohammad(JeM) terror organisation who apparently have strong roots in Pakistan.
In two separate encounters in the Kishtawar and Udhampur districts of Jammu & Kashmir three terrorists of JeM were neutralised by the Indian Army. The hunt for the terrorists was going on for three weeks in a coordinated action between the Indian Army, CRPF and other security officials. Ultimately, three terrorists were neutralised, thus marking a major success for the security forces in protecting the national security and territorial integrity of the country.
Security personnel trapped and locked the Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists while they were hiding in a natural cave in the Udhampur district of Jammu & Kashmir. The hunt and encounter launched in Udhampur is named as “Operation Kiya”. Simultaneously, in the Kishtawar district of J&K, “Operation Trashi 1” is under way and one more terrorist from the JeM terrorist was neutralised as the encounter escalated with full fervour by the security officials.
“In the continuing search and elimination of terrorists in the Kishtwar region, where the hunt has already led to several contacts in the dense forests and challenging terrain, a contact was re-established with the terrorists on the run in the ongoing joint operation (Trashi-I) by the troops of Counter-Insurgency Force Delta, White Knight Corps, J&K Police and CRPF at around 5.45 pm today in the general area of Dichhar, Kishtwar”, wrote the Indian Army. The Operation is still embroiling in the dense forests and rough terrain of Kashmir and a massive hunt has been intensified to neutralise the anti-national and illicit elements who are channelised into the country by the enemy state.
Meanwhile, the two JeM terrorists neutralised in Udhampur on the early morning of February 4, Tuesday have been identified as Rubani alias Abu Mavia and his close associate Zubair. They were locked in a cave and were gunned down in a 20-hour-long operation where locals reiterate massive explosions and continuous firing being heard. “Based on specific intelligence input provided by police, troops of Counter-Insurgency Force Delta, White Knight Corps planned and executed a focused joint counter-terror operation in the general area of Jophar Forest, Basantgarh in coordination with police and CRPF reinforcing the cordon, ensuring effective area domination to prevent escape of terrorists”, the Indian Army said.

“Contact with terrorists was established yesterday and since then, terrorists have been prevented from breaking contact. Following a calibrated and coordinated response, two terrorists have been successfully neutralised. The operation highlighted seamless inter-agency coordination, tactical precision and high standards of professionalism”, the White Knight Corps of the Indian Army further explained the stellar defensive capabilities of the security personnel. Also, a large quantity of arms and munitions were recovered from the deceased terrorists, including M4 Carbine, AK Assault rifle and three grenades.

Meanwhile, two more terrorists were targeted by the Indian security officials in the operation and during the massive firing and encounter they were injured. However, both of them managed to escape and retreat into the caves before being captured. Thus, the security personnel are on high vigilance and are continuing their heightened search operation, to pull out the terrorists from their hide outs and are aiming to swiftly neutralise them in the path of defending national security and protecting the lives of innocent civilians in Jammu & Kashmir who are illicitly targeted by the terrorists. Security personnel are also using dog squads, drones and other resources for surveillance to capture the terrorists.
The counter-terrorism operations are swiftly accelerating in Jammu & Kashmir for over a month, where a number of terrorists predominantly belonging to the JeM outfit have been neutralised. In the month of January, three JeM terrorists were encountered in Kathua district and five other terrorists were neutralised in Chatroo forest belt of the Kishtwar district.
