KGMU Horror: Dr Rameezuddin Malik & associates accused of luring Hindu women and pressuring them to convert to Islam

King George’s Medical University (KGMU) in Lucknow is under intense investigation following allegations that doctors, led by Dr. Rameezuddin Malik, coerced Hindu women into marriage and conversion to Islam while exploiting and blackmailing them. Multiple arrests and ongoing probes have revealed a wider network linked to extremist ideologies

Lucknow: King George’s Medical University (KGMU) in Lucknow is under investigation after a group of doctors was allegedly found to have lured Hindu women into romantic relationships, coercing them into marriage and conversion to Islam. The victims were reportedly blackmailed using explicit photographs, videos, and forged marriage certificates. Reports suggest that a maulana instructed the doctors, with a particular focus on two female medical professionals. It has also been revealed that the “price” for conversion varied, with multiple such cases coming to light during the ongoing probe.

The matter came to public attention on December 17, when a Hindu doctor attempted suicide by ingesting poison. She accused her superior, Dr. Rameezuddin Malik (also known as Rameez Malik) from the pathology department, of pressuring her to marry him and convert to Islam, alleging that she endured both physical and mental harassment.

Following the incident, her father lodged a complaint with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and the State Women’s Commission. Babita Chauhan, chairperson of the commission, along with vice-chairperson Aparna Yadav, took an active role, meeting with the university’s Vice-Chancellor to gather information. They stated that a larger gang, rather than a single individual, was involved in the alleged conversions and assured that all perpetrators would be identified and held accountable.

The victim recounted her traumatic experience, stating that Dr. Malik pressured her to undergo an abortion. She alleged that he had recorded explicit videos of her and used them to blackmail her. She emphasized that he forced her to embrace Islam for the purpose of marriage and regularly exploited her sexually under this pretext. As a result, she became pregnant, and he reportedly compelled her to have an abortion through medication. She also stated that when she requested him to marry her in October 2025, he began insisting that she change her religion.

The Hindu doctor said she tried to distance herself from Malik, but he pursued her relentlessly. He allegedly continued to blackmail her with the explicit videos, threatening, “I will make these viral. You will not be able to marry anyone. Submit and convert to Islam.” She further mentioned Malik’s first wife, Mansi Saxena, whom she met in September 2026, claiming that Mansi had also been forced to convert to Islam before marrying him.

On January 5, Lucknow police arrested Malik’s parents, Salimuddin and Khatija, in the Thakurganj area following the complaint. Subsequent investigations revealed startling details about Salimuddin: he had previously married four Hindu women from different states and had them convert to Islam. His former spouses were reportedly from J&K, Punjab, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh. Khatija, Malik’s mother, is also a former Hindu. Malik is the son of Salimuddin’s first wife, who was of Punjabi origin.

The victim met with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and provided a detailed account of her ordeal. The Chief Minister assured her that strict and decisive action would be taken against the perpetrators and emphasized that anyone found involved in the case would face similar consequences. The State Women’s Commission also met with him to brief him on the situation.

Following the revelations, Dr. Malik was suspended from King George’s Medical University. He initially cooperated with the college administration’s inquiry, claiming innocence, but soon went into hiding as police efforts to apprehend him intensified. Authorities announced a reward of Rs 25,000 for information leading to his capture, which was later increased to Rs 50,000. A non-bailable warrant was issued against him, and raids were conducted at multiple locations. On January 7, a property attachment notice was placed on his ancestral residence in Pilibhit. Two days later, on January 9, Malik was arrested, reportedly intending to surrender before the court.

“Islamic Medicos Meet” at Agra Medical College

Malik joined the MBBS program at SN Medical College in Agra in 2012, during the tenure of the Samajwadi Party in the state, a period that reportedly saw an increase in the confidence of certain radical elements. Around this time, meetings were organized at Agra Medical College under the banner of the “Islamic Medicos Meet,” where maulanas and senior students allegedly coached junior students on how to approach Hindu girls.

A WhatsApp group called “Islamic Medicos” was reportedly created to connect these individuals. According to allegations, several Muslim doctors seduced Hindu women within the institution and pressured them to convert to Islam. Malik is said to have had four to five close associates who shared similar ideological beliefs, and one of his acquaintances at King George’s Medical University has allegedly been involved in comparable activities over the past year.

Another KGMU Doctor Arrested

The police arrested Mohammad Adil, an intern doctor at King George’s Medical University, for allegedly sexually exploiting a female student over an extended period. He reportedly lured her with promises of marriage while threatening to release her personal photos and videos. Adil befriended the victim and invited her to his apartment under the assurance of marriage, engaging in repeated physical relations. However, when she reminded him of his promises, he allegedly evaded the topic and intimidated her, warning that he would make her photos and videos public if she resisted.

Fed up with the harassment, the victim filed a complaint of sexual harassment and intimidation at Kaiserbagh police station on December 29. Adil initially went into hiding, frequently changing locations, but was eventually arrested on January 14.

Delhi Blast Case and Malik’s Connection to Zakir Naik

Investigations revealed Malik’s association with Dr. Shaheen Saeed, who was arrested in connection with the Delhi blast case. Media reports indicate that Malik met her at a medical conference, after which he became influenced by her ideology and acknowledged his ties to her during interrogation.

Authorities also found suspicious chats on Malik’s phone regarding religious conversion, along with several videos featuring the controversial Islamic preacher and fugitive Zakir Naik. Investigators suspect he used these materials to facilitate conversions. Dr. Bhupendra stated that some KGMU students had interacted with Naik around 2004. Over time, practices such as wearing beards and hijabs became common in certain areas of the campus. Extremists influenced by Naik’s ideology reportedly began targeting Hindu girls, with BDS students notably involved, gradually normalizing these activities.

Police reported that Malik’s phone contained conversations not only with the primary victim but also with multiple other Hindu women and doctors. Several nude images were recovered from the device, indicating that he was simultaneously communicating with multiple women and allegedly luring them into his trap.
The police, along with the Special Task Force (STF), continue to investigate the case. Many of Malik’s close associates have erased mobile data and WhatsApp conversations, and several individuals connected to the matter remain in hiding.
