New Operation Sindoor video reveals precision strikes on terror camps, airbases across the border

On the occasion of Army Day 2026, the Indian Army released a powerful new video showcasing Operation Sindoor, highlighting precision strikes on terror infrastructure and subsequent attacks on airbases and radar installations across the border. The visuals underscore India’s calibrated military response following the Pahalgam terror attack in May 2025

The Indian Army on January 15, unveiled a three-minute video detailing Operation Sindoor, a major cross-border military operation carried out in May last year in response to the deadly Pahalgam terror attack. Released as part of the Army Day 2026 celebrations, the video offers rare visual insights into precision strikes conducted on terror camps and military assets across the border.

The footage, shared by the Army’s Additional Directorate General of Public Information (ADG PI), highlights coordinated operations carried out by Indian armed forces, underlining what the Army described as “indomitable courage, valour and unwavering resolve.”

The video opens with a stark reminder of major terror attacks India has faced over the past two decades, including the 2001 Parliament attack, the 2002 Akshardham Temple attack, the 2008 Mumbai attacks, Uri in 2016, Pulwama in 2019, and the Pahalgam attack in 2025. Each incident is described as an “attack on humanity,” setting the context for India’s retaliatory doctrine against terrorism.

According to the visuals, Indian forces struck nine identified terror targets on the night of May 7, 2025. The video shows synchronized precision strikes carried out under Operation Sindoor, aimed at dismantling terror launch pads and logistical hubs operating across the border.

While the video does not explicitly name Pakistan, it clearly depicts cross-border operations and subsequent developments along the Line of Control and the International Border in Jammu and Kashmir.

The footage also shows the aftermath of heavy shelling in border areas of Jammu and Kashmir, attributed to Pakistani retaliation following the Indian strikes. Visuals of damaged civilian areas are juxtaposed with scenes of Indian forces responding by intercepting and shooting down hostile drones and targeting forward military posts.

In a further escalation, the video highlights strikes on air defence radar systems and key airbases across the border, indicating a broader military response beyond terror infrastructure alone.

The Army Day video concludes with a strong message: “A warning for our enemies. They have to pay for their cowardice.” The closing line reinforces India’s stated policy of decisive retaliation against terror attacks and those supporting them.

Operation Sindoor was conceived in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir, where Pakistan-backed terrorists reportedly singled out victims based on religion and killed 26 civilians. The government had termed the attack a “clear attempt to incite communal violence” and vowed a firm response.

On May 7, 2025, India launched Operation Sindoor with the stated objective of destroying terror bases operating from across the border. Official sources had said the operation resulted in significant damage to terror infrastructure.

Following Pakistan’s alleged drone incursions and shelling of civilian areas near the international border, India carried out retaliatory strikes targeting radar installations and key airbases. These actions, as shown in the video, were aimed at degrading the adversary’s surveillance and response capabilities.

The release of the Operation Sindoor video on Army Day is being seen as both a tribute to the armed forces and a strategic message highlighting India’s preparedness and resolve. By publicly showcasing elements of the operation, the Army has sought to underline its capability to conduct precise, coordinated strikes while responding firmly to terrorism.
