New Delhi: In a shocking incident reported from Bihar’s Purnea district, a young woman was forcibly picked up and gangraped allegedly by six individuals, on Saturday, January 10.
As per media reports, the woman who works as a dance artist was forcibly picked up by two of the accused who came in a car on Saturday evening. The accused later took the victim to a premise near Dagaruwa barrier of the town, where they along with four other individuals forced her to dance and later took turn to rape her.
The incident came to light after the victim woman contacted dial 112 service, by using the cell phone of one of the accused after five of the other accused left the venue, locking the woman inside with one of the accused.
Upon receiving information, a police team immediately reached the spot and found the premise to be locked from outside.
The police then barged inside the premise and rescued the victim woman along arresting one of the accused from the spot. The arrested accused was identified as Zunaid Alam, a resident of Purnea town. The victim woman was later sent for medical examination.
A case was subsequently registered by police on the basis of victim’s statement against six accused. The matter is being probed further by the authorities and efforts are on to nab the absconding accused.
