Karnataka: Minor Girl rescued from Delhi–Bengaluru human trafficking racket; Ibrahim arrested

Bengaluru: A sophisticated human trafficking and prostitution network spanning Delhi and Bengaluru has been exposed following the dramatic rescue of a minor girl at Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna Railway Station on December 15. The Railway Protection Force’s swift intervention has unveiled a disturbing tale of exploitation that lasted over two years.

The rescue occurred during a special raid operation at the Majestic railway station, where RPF officers found the teenage girl in distress. What followed was a harrowing account that sent shockwaves through law enforcement agencies and exposed the brutal reality of human trafficking in metropolitan India.

During interrogation, the victim revealed that she had been confined to a cramped space in Delhi for an entire year, where she was forced into prostitution against her will. The girl’s testimony painted a horrifying picture of systematic abuse and torture at the hands of her captors.

“She was subjected to unspeakable cruelty,” said a senior RPF official familiar with the case. The victim recounted through tears how a broker identified as Muskan would pour hot water on her and subject her to brutal physical torture as a means of control and intimidation. The psychological and physical scars from this ordeal remain evident.

After enduring a year of exploitation in Delhi, the traffickers relocated the girl to a prominent spa in Bengaluru, where the nightmare continued. Confined once again to a small room, she was forced to serve clients from both India and abroad for another year. The spa operated as a front for the illegal prostitution ring, with the girl being one of potentially many victims trapped in this network.

The victim’s statement revealed the scale of her exploitation, noting that numerous clients from various countries had participated in her abuse over the twelve months in Bengaluru. The international dimension of the clientele suggests a well-organised operation with sophisticated client networks.

The rescue came about through a combination of intelligence gathering and fortunate timing. According to police sources, brokers operating the network received a tip-off about an impending raid on the Bengaluru spa. In a desperate attempt to relocate their victim and protect their operation, two brokers identified as Ayan and Neha brought the girl to Majestic Railway Station.

They planned to transport her by train to another location, presumably to continue the exploitation or sell her to another trafficking ring. However, upon spotting RPF personnel at the station, the brokers panicked and fled, leaving the girl behind. This moment of cowardice became the victim’s opportunity for freedom, as alert RPF officers quickly intervened and took her into protective custody.

Acting swiftly on the victim’s statement, the Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna Railway Police Station registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The stringent provisions of POCSO ensure serious consequences for those convicted of sexual crimes against minors.

Within days of the rescue, police arrested two individuals, Ibrahim and Sneha, in connection with the trafficking network. Both suspects are currently in custody and being interrogated intensively. Investigators are working to trace the complete organisational structure of the ring, including identifying other brokers, clients, and potential victims.

“This is not an isolated case,” stated an investigating officer. “We are gathering information about others involved in this network and exploring connections to similar operations in other cities.”

The victim is currently receiving medical care and counselling support. Authorities have assured that her identity will be protected throughout the legal proceedings, and efforts are underway to reunite her with her family in a safe environment.
