In a significant breakthrough, the Delhi Police’s crime branch has arrested the principal conspirator allegedly linked to multiple shootings at Kapil Sharma’s Kap’s Cafe in Surrey, Canada, earlier this year. The operation, led by DCP Sanjeev Yadav, resulted in the apprehension of Bandhu Maan Singh Shekhon, a key associate of the Goldy Dhillon gang. Authorities also recovered a Chinese PX-3 pistol during the arrest. Special CP Devesh Srivastava confirmed the recent developments.

The latest shooting at Kapil Sharma’s Kap’s Cafe occurred in October, marking the third attack since July. This incident took place barely two weeks after the cafe had reopened following the previous two shootings.
In response to the last attack, a police vehicle and a mobile CCTV unit were stationed outside the cafe, with Surrey Police promising enhanced security. The attacks were claimed by Goldy Dhillon and Kulvir Sidhu of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, who also released a video showing themselves firing multiple shots from inside a car using an automatic pistol.

A social media post taking responsibility suggested that the gang acted over alleged anti-religious remarks made by Bollywood personalities and warned of further attacks.

In August, around 9–10 shots were fired at Kap’s Cafe, with at least six hitting the walls and windows. Employees were present during the attack, even as Molotov cocktails were hurled at the establishment. Multiple residents called the local police control around 4:30 a.m., prompting a dispatch of several units. A subsequent social media post by Goldy Dhillon claimed responsibility, stating that Sharma had not answered their call, forcing them to act, and warning that their next attack could target Mumbai.

The first attack, on July 9, involved a shooter wearing a body camera while firing at the cafe. This assault was claimed by Germany-based Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) terrorist Harjeet Singh Laddi, who cited alleged past comments made on Sharma’s show as justification. Kap’s Cafe, inaugurated this summer, is Sharma’s first international restaurant venture.
