Guwahati: After Gauhati University (GU) Akhil Bharatiya Vidhyarthi Parishad (ABVP) posted a major win in Assam University student union election. ABVP secured a dominant victory in the student union election by winning all posts it had contested in the election held on November 10. This was one of the strongest results shown by ABVP in recent years in the top educational institute of Southern Assam. Earlier, ABVP created history in Gauhati University by winning 6 major posts including President and General Secretary in the student union election.

Rajkinkar Chakravarty of ABVP won the President post while Kaushik Dasgupta clinched the General Secretary post as a ABVP candidate. Reacting to the splendid victory newly elected President of the student union Rajkinkar Chakravarty said, ‘Assam University Silchar election is a testimony that the Gen Z stands united against anti national forces and all-round development of the university.”

It should be mentioned that ABVP has not only clinched splendid victory in top universities of Assam including Gauhati University and Assam University Silchar, it has also registered big wins in many colleges in the state including Kamrup College, Bishnu Rabha college, Lumding college, Diphu Govt college, B H college, GL Chaudhury college, South Kamrup college etc. The rise of ABVP in major universities and colleges of Assam has significant importance in the future of the state. It has proved that more and more young generation representatives have come up with nationalist thinking and rejected anti national forces. Even the rise of ABVP in rural and semi urban colleges also signifies the message of nationalism being spreading to young generations of every nook and corner of the state.
