In order to help our young and aspiring readers stay updated about government job opportunities, Organiser has launched a new series called “Jobs This Week,” detailing all jobs for the past week.

This new series is much more than just a list of job openings. It aims to bring clear, well-researched, and verified information about ongoing and upcoming recruitment drives in central, state, and other government departments. Each edition will carry details of the openings all in one place, so that aspirants don’t miss any important opportunity.

In this first report, we bring you a detailed round-up of job notifications released between November 1 and November 8, 2025, covering major sectors such as Defence, Railways, Banking, Technical Services, State Selection Boards, and Education. All the information has been carefully verified from official government sources to ensure accuracy and reliability.

Defence Recruitment

The year 2025 has marked a significant uptick in defence-related technical and officer-level recruitment, reinforcing India’s focus on building a technologically advanced military ecosystem.

The Indian Army Technical Graduate Course (TGC-143) continues to represent one of the most sought-after entries for engineering graduates. Applications opened on 8 October and concluded on 6 November 2025, offering 30 vacancies for final-year or completed engineering degree holders in Civil, Electrical, Computer Science, Mechanical, and Electronics disciplines. The eligibility criteria required candidates to be between 20 and 27 years of age as of 1 July 2026. Notably, the Army has retained its inclusive stance by keeping the application process completely free for all categories.

Key details:

  • Vacancies: 30
  • Application: 8 Oct to 6 Nov 2025
  • Eligibility: Engineering graduates/final year students (Civil, Electrical, CS, Mechanical, Electronics)
  • Age: 20-27 years (as on 1 July 2026)

Candidates are shortlisted based on their academic records, followed by the Services Selection Board (SSB) interview, a medical examination, and document verification. The TGC programme remains one of the most prestigious and challenging channels through which young engineers can join the commissioned ranks of the Indian Army, combining academic excellence with national service.

Parallelly, the Indian Army 10+2 Technical Entry Scheme (TES-55) caters to younger aspirants. The TES-55 notification, open from 14 October to 13 November 2025, offers 90 positions for candidates aged between 16.5 and 19.5 years as of 1 July 2026. Applicants are required to have secured a minimum of 60 percent aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics at the 10+2 level and must have appeared in the JEE Mains 2025 examination. Like the TGC, the TES recruitment process is merit-driven and fee-free.

Key details:

  • Vacancies: 90
  • Application: 14 Oct to 13 Nov 2025
  • Eligibility: 10+2 with PCM (60%) and JEE Mains 2025

For the Flying Branch, candidates aged 20 to 24 years with a Bachelor’s degree and Physics and Mathematics at the 10+2 level (or a B.E./B.Tech.) are eligible, while Ground Duty positions, both Technical and Non-Technical, are open to candidates aged 20 to 26 years with relevant engineering or general degrees. The application fee of Rs 550 applies to most candidates, except those applying through NCC Special Entry or Meteorology branches.

The AFCAT selection process involves an online written examination, followed by an Air Force Selection Board (AFSB) interview and a medical evaluation.

Collectively, these notifications underline a defining trend in defence recruitment: the armed forces are increasingly favouring candidates with STEM backgrounds. The push toward technological proficiency signals a larger vision where modernisation of weaponry, intelligence systems, and command operations must go hand in hand with the modernisation of human resources.

Central Technical and Scientific Recruitment

Outside the armed forces, the demand for skilled technical manpower across India’s premier scientific institutions has also surged.

The Intelligence Bureau (IB), operating under the Ministry of Home Affairs, has announced 258 vacancies for the post of Assistant Central Intelligence Officer (Technical), a critical cadre in India’s internal security architecture.

The recruitment window opened on 25 October and will close on 16 November 2025.
