NEW DELHI: The All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), under the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, celebrated its 9th Foundation Day on October 17, 2025 at its campus in New Delhi. The event was graced by Ramveer Singh Bidhuri, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), as the Chief Guest, along with Prof. (Vaidya) Pradeep Kumar Prajapati, Director, AIIA, senior officials, faculty members, and students.

The celebration commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and a soulful rendition of the Dhanvantari Vandana, invoking blessings for health and well-being.

In his address, Ramveer Singh Bidhuri congratulated AIIA on completing nine successful years of excellence in Ayurvedic education, research, and healthcare delivery. He mentioned his long-standing association with AIIA, New Delhi, and fondly remembered the late Sushma Swaraj and Bhairav Singh Shekhawat and said he was here at the laying down of the foundation stone along with the two leaders. The Minister praised AIIA and said “Delhi is surrounded by illnesses from all directions, and the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), New Delhi, consistently provides relief and hope to countless patients. Every day, thousands of patients arrive at AIIA with troubled faces and leave with smiles and renewed health.”

Prof. (Vaidya) Pradeep Kumar Prajapati, Director, AIIA, in his welcome address, highlighted the institute’s achievements and contribution to the field of Ayurveda. The Director expressed his heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to all the former Directors who have contributed to the growth and success of the institute.

He also requested the Minister to consider constructing a divider near the hospital to facilitate smoother movement for patients, saving their time and energy. Additionally, he proposed that the Onida Bus Stand be renamed as AIIA Bus Stand for better public recognition and accessibility.

Over the past nine years, AIIA has achieved remarkable milestones in advancing Ayurvedic healthcare and research. The institute has provided treatment to more than 30 lakh patients through its 44 specialty clinics and established seven new Health and Wellness Centers across India. AIIA has also signed 73 national and international Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) to foster global and domestic collaborations in the field of Ayurveda.

Earlier in the day, a Havan ceremony was held at Dhanvantari Vatika, attended by the faculty and staff members to mark the auspicious occasion. The celebration concluded with a cultural programme presented by the students and staff of AIIA, showcasing the rich cultural heritage and essence of Ayurveda.

The All India Institute of Ayurveda continues to be a center of excellence for Ayurvedic education, research, and patient care, committed to realizing the vision of making India a global leader in traditional healthcare systems.
