Raipur: Police in Chhattisgarh arrested a student for allegedly creating AI-generated obscene images of female students by using AI tools.
As per details, the accused identified as Sayed Rahim Adnan, a student of Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) allegedly created morphed photographs of over 30 female students of his college by using AI-based editing tools.
Police initiated an enquiry into the matter after receiving a complaint from the administration and subsequently arrested the accused. The accused individual has been booked under the IT Act and other relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita [BNS].
As per reports, the college administration had initiated an internal enquiry after the matter came to light. Based on its findings, the administration then reportedly approached the police which led to the arrest of the accused.
The accused Adnan was accused of creating morphed images of 36 female students. He was already suspended by the college administration.
The accused, following the disclosure of the matter has reportedly escaped to Bilaspur, from where he was arrested by police on Thursday. The matter is being probed further by the officials.
