Guwahati: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), founded by Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar on the auspicious day of Vijayadashami in Nagpur in 1925, has successfully completed one hundred years of service to the nation. What began as the vision of a visionary man has now become a global organisation to reckon with currently serving mankind under various names in nearly 34 countries worldwide. The RSS works with the aim of restoring the glorious nation of Bharat to the status of ‘Vishwaguru’ (World Guru), alongside organising, empowering, and instilling self-pride within the Hindu society across every corner of the country.

A Legacy of Selfless Social Service

RSS karyakartas have consistently engaged in community services during various natural calamities and other emergency situations. From offering critical aid during disasters like floods and earthquakes to organizing free health check-up camps and blood donation drives, Covid care, their dedication is constant. Notably, during the COVID-19 pandemic, volunteers risked their own lives to serve society.

Furthermore, approximately 32 diverse organisations, inspired by the ideology of the RSS, are working silently across various sectors of society, including education, health, social reform, and self-reliance. The work of the Sangh in Assam began in 1946 and has been continuing uninterruptedly ever since, parallel to the growth and expansion across Bharat.

October 2: The festival was observed by volunteers at 17 locations, including Phariat Nagar in the East Jaintia Hills district of Meghalaya, Musalpur town in Baksa district, and 15 other block-level locations across districts like Barpeta, Nalbari, Baksa, and Charaideo.

October 5th (Today: The main inaugural programs were held across 320 locations in the North Assam Prant, covering 47 towns and 273 block-level areas. This also included 7 towns and 43 blocks in Meghalaya.

Despite the heavy rainfall today, all programs were conducted as planned, featuring a physical demonstration session followed by an intellectual session (Boudhik Karyakram).

Kishor Shivam, Prant Prachar Pramukh of the RSS, North Assam, announced that a total of approximately 40,000 karyakartas participated in ganvesh across all programs held on both days, with over one lakh people attending the events across the various locations in the zone.
