Chhattisgarh: Maoist couple residing in Raipur nabbed by SIA

Both Ramesh and his alleged wife are residents of Bijapur's Gangloor area and have recently moved to DD Nagar area of Raipur

Raipur: State Investigation Agency [SIA] of Chhattisgarh on late evening September 25, arrested a Maoist couple from Raipur. The agency picked up the duo from DD Nagar of the capital city.

The nabbed Maoist operatives have been identified as Juggu Kurasam alias Ramesh and his wife Kamla, both original residents of Bijapur’s Gangloor area. The arrest of the Maoist couple from the city area has stunned the locals.

The SIA had received inputs about a Maoist couple residing in the city area. Further investigation by the agency led to tracing of their location near Changorabhata under DD Nagar police station limits. The sleuths of the agency them arrested the duo on late Thursday evening.

As per preliminary reports, both Ramesh and his alleged wife were earlier operating from forest region. They were residing in the capital city for a long time and changing their location frequently.

They have recently moved to Changorbhata and also prepared fabricated documents in order to conceal their identity. The male member Ramesh was also said to has served as an employee at residence of a few senior officials.

The authorities following the arrest are investigating that whether the couple was sharing sensitive information to Maoists. Details about their network and presence of other Naxal operatives in the city are also being probed by the officials. The matter is being investigated further.
