New Delhi/Patna: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 26 inaugurated the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojna of Bihar government. The Prime Minister joined the event via video conferencing and transferred Rs 7500 crore to 75 lakh women residents of the state. The event related to the launch of the ambitious scheme of the state’s NDA government was held in state capital Patna.

The PM on the occasion stated that the Union Government and the Bihar government are working for service, self-respect and prosperity of the women in the state.

PM Modi praises the initiative taken by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and said the scheme is a bold and significant step for sisters and daughters of Bihar. The PM stressed that when any sister or daughter engages in employment or self-employment, her dreams gain new wings, and her respect in society increases even more.

The Prime Minister during the program also interacted with the beneficiaries of the scheme. The PM said that he is very happy to see the vision of the scheme as it includes one woman from every family. He noted that a brother feels happy when he sees her sister is happy and financially strong.

“A brother feels happy when his sister is healthy, happy, and her family is financially strong, and for this, the brother does whatever is needed. Today, your two brothers Narendra and Nitish ji are working together tirelessly for your service, prosperity and your self-respect. Today’s work is also an example of this. When I was told about this scheme, I was very happy to see its vision. One woman from every family will definitely get the benefit of this scheme,” said PM Modi.

PM Modi said that the scheme started by the NDA government in Bihar has also given new strengths to the Union Government’s ‘Lakhpati Didi Campaign’. He underscored that the Union Government has set a target of creating 3 crore Lakhpati Didis in the country and there are already 2 crore Lakhpati Didis. He stated that the hard work of these sisters have changed the villages, society and the status of their families.

The PM on the occasion also trained guns on the opposition, alleging that women suffered the most during the previous regime. The PM said that due to poor infrastructure pregnant women were not able to reach hospitals on time. The PM highlighted that the double engine government of Bihar has focused extensively on the infrastructure development in the state.

“Today, our daughters are flying fighter planes. But we must not forget the days when the RJD was in power in Bihar. It was the rule of the lantern. During that time, the mothers, sisters, and women of Bihar bore the brunt of lawlessness and corruption. Back then, when major roads in Bihar were in ruins, who suffered the most? When such difficulties arise, we all know that our women are the first to bear the brunt of these hardships. Pregnant women couldn’t reach hospitals on time. In critical situations, they couldn’t receive proper treatment. Our government has worked day and night to help you overcome these difficult circumstances,” said the Prime Minister.

The PM further quoted that Maoist violence was rampant during the RJD rule and the woman bore the burnt of it. He alleged that poor as well as families of doctors, officials had to suffer and the women didn’t have the luxury of working late at night. The Prime Minister said that he feels satisfied to see a large number of women police officers deployed.

The state government also aims to develop Haat markets across the state for sale of the products made by the women.
