Malayalam actor Unni Mukundan has been announced as the lead in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming biopic. The film, titled Maa Vande, had its first look poster released on the occasion of Modi’s 75th birthday. Written and directed by Kranti Kumar CH, the project is being produced by Veer Reddy M under the banner of Silver Cast Creations. Marketed as a pan-Indian film, it is set to release in seven languages, including Malayalam, Hindi, Kannada, Telugu and Gujarati, along with an English version. The story will trace Modi’s journey from his childhood to his rise as a national leader, with a special focus on his deep bond with his mother, Heeraben Modi.

Sharing his excitement, Unni Mukundan took to Facebook to express what this role means to him. ” Having grown up in Ahmedabad, I first knew him as my Chief Minister during my childhood. Years later, in April 2023, I had the privilege of meeting him in person, a moment that left an indelible mark on me, “the actor wrote. Calling the role deeply inspiring, he added,

“As an actor, stepping into this role is overwhelming yet deeply inspiring. His political journey has been nothing short of extraordinary, but in this film, we aim to explore the man beyond the statesman, especially his profound bond with his mother, who shaped his character and spirit.” Unni also recalled his personal interaction with Modi, noting the words of encouragement he received from the Prime Minister. “He told me ‘Jukwanu Nahi’ in Gujarati. That means never bow your head. Those words have been a source of strength and resolve for me ever since,” he shared.

A man’s story that rises beyond battles… to become a revolution for the ages 💥💥#MaaVande it is ❤️

Wishing the Honourable Prime Minister @Narendramodi Ji a very Happy Birthday ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥
