Amid anti-migrant protests Tommy Robinson hails Hindu community in UK and PM Modi, expresses angst against Muslims

Tommy Robinson, the far-right activist who is leading the anti-migrant protests in London has a very distinct stand towards the Indians, particularly the Hindu community in United Kingdom, despite his anger towards spiraling migration into the country. He has also hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s political and developmental accomplishments in India. While calling out Hindus as “allies”, Tommy Robinson has also expressed anger against the Muslim immigrants quoting them as “aggressors”

Tommy Robinson, the man who is leading the massive-scale anti-migrant protest in London has a very unique and distinct stand towards the Indians, especially the Hindu community in the United Kingdom, despite his frustration and anger towards the flooding of migrants into the country. At several occasions, Robinson has hailed the Hindus as “allies” and as those who integrate into British life. He has also described the Hindus as “peaceful and peace-loving migrant community”. Thereby he doesn’t deem the Hindus as a threat to the British culture and identity.

Tommy Robinson vocal of Hindu rights and protection

Infact, Tommy Robinson’s alignment towards the Hindu community is being witnessed since many years. During the 2022 Asia Cup cricket match in Leichester, there was a severe clash between the British Hindu and Muslim community. During the clash Tommy Robinson had asserted that he would mobilize “hundreds of men”, to fight in favour of and defend the British Hindus, if there comes a necessity.

Mr. Robinson in many occasions has repeatedly asserted that Hindus are different from other immigrant groups because they gel well with the British and respect the British culture. He has also exclaimed that Hindus doesn’t inflict a ‘fear factor’ and are not a cause for the erosion of British identity. In 2022, while speaking for a private media platform, Tommy Robinson had also asserted that sometimes Hindus are being unfairly treated in Britain, however, he would unequivocally stand in support of them.

He had also accused the British political class for not standing with the Hindus and defending their rights. He also made a bold statement while claiming that he has personally seen the struggle of Hindus, which is very similar to his ‘campaign against Islam’. He has also spoken about how Hindus are being victims of biased politics, appeasement politics and are repeatedly targeted by the few Islamist groups.

He has also urged the Hindus to not remain passive and fight back and strongly assert their rights against the discrimination and defend themselves to protect their rights.

Praises Prime Minister Narendra Modi

The far-right activist Tommy Robinson is also a vocal supporter of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During the 2024 elections, Robinson had cheered for PM Modi for a third consecutive win. He had hailed the political developments in India and had compared it with his populist ideas and vision for the United Kingdom.

Infact, after the NDA coalition emerged victorious in the 2024 elections he had congratulated for successfully thwarting “communism” for a third consecutive time. Experts also analyze that one of the major reasons for Tommy Robinson to align with the Hindu community is, the community rarely involves in any violent or anti-British activities and fully respects the culture of the land.

While some other political experts who are sceptic of Tommy Robinson also opine that his pro-Hindu stance is a calculated move, for picturizing him as someone who is not completely against immigration as depicted across platforms, but his protest is only against those immigrants who are a threat to British identity and culture and those who aggressively instigate violence in the country that harms the social fabric of Britain.
