Jamiat wants to oust Assam CM; Himanta Biswa Sarma said let Madani come I will send him to Bangladesh

Madani shouldn't forget that his ancestors Mughals were bitten and defeated 17 times by Assamese warriors. If needed we are ready to teach them a tough lesson for another 17 times

Guwahati: The ongoing eviction drives by the Assam government has become a headache for the Islamist organisations across the country. Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma has clearly mentioned that the eviction drives are aimed to clear all Miya-Muslims illegally settled in forest land. So far the BJP led state government has reclaimed over 1 lakh 40 thousand bighas of forest and government land encroached by Bangladeshi origin Muslims in the state. The Guwahati High Court also directed the state government recently to evict all encroachment in the forest land and in future the forest encroachment should be treated as a criminal offence.

On August 22 the Jamiat Ulema Hind demanded the ouster of Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma for the ongoing eviction drives. The top Islamist organisation took a resolution in their national executive meeting which demanded immediate removal of CM Sarma and his arrest. They claimed that the eviction drives in Assam are targeting Muslims only and wrote to the President of India for action against the Assam CM.

Local organisations denounced the bizarre demand of Jamiat and said who is Madani to diktak who should be CM of Assam? Ahom student union ATASA, Bir Lachit Sena and many organisations staged protest against the Jamiat Ulema Hind for their conspiracy to create unrest in the state.

Reacting on the issue CM Sarma said, I don’t care about Jamiat or Madani. He is an anti-Assamese person who during the Congress regime stalled the TET teacher appointment in Assam as a part of a bigger conspiracy against the state. Sitting in the then CM Tarun Gogoi’s chamber they made our honest officers cry for not following their instructions.

People of Assam will decide who should remain as the CM of the state. Who are Jamiat and Madani to instruct us? Let Madani come to Assam, I will send him to Bangladesh, CM Sarma said.  He further said, Congress is the B team of Jamiat. They are Sardar of unknown (Miya Muslims) people and Congress doesn’t represent our indigenous people.

They wanted to shallow the state and the Congress party allowed it. But we have stood a resistance, now evictions are on, Aadhar card has been restricted, indigenous people are getting land rights, jobs and so the Islamist groups are on their edge. This is why this drama has been restarted now, he added.

Meanwhile BJP MLA Chakra Gogoi said, “Madani shouldn’t forget that his ancestors Mughals were bitten and defeated 17 times by Assamese warriors. If needed we are ready to teach them a tough lesson for another 17 times.”

Jatiya Sangram Parishad leader Situ Baruah said, Jamiat is an organisation of Miya and we don’t listen to Miya. Assam is run by its indigenous people and if Madani has guts let him come to Assam and stop the eviction drives. Eviction drives against Miya encroachers will continue in Assam with the support of our people, only the Congress party will listen to the Jamiat, he added.
