The attackers, armed with sharp weapons, vandalised the house and damaged three motorcycles. Mukul Roy’s father and brother sustained injuries and were taken to the hospital. A formal complaint was later filed by Mukul at the Haldibari police station.

No arrests have been made yet in connection with the incident. To prevent further unrest, a heavy police presence has been deployed in the area. In a video now circulating on social media, Sweety Parveen stated that she is living with her Hindu husband by her own choice and has no intention of returning to her Muslim family.
