Amidst a vibrant display of Indian culture and spiritual fervor, the annual Kanwar Yatra marked a significant confluence of faith, tradition, and the collective spirit of millions. This year, the sacred pilgrimage, deeply embedded in the heart of Hindu beliefs, took on an even more profound meaning as devotees embarked on their journeys not only to collect holy water, symbolising devotion and purity, but also to pay heartfelt tribute to ‘Operation Sindoor’ and our brave soldiers, honouring their valour and sacrifice.

This report is based on the Kanwar Yatra held from July 8, 2025, to July 18, 2025, where Kanwariyas paid tribute to ‘Operation Sindoor’ and our brave Indian soldiers through seven special Kanwar Yatra.

551-foot Kanwar in Muzaffarnagar: A tribute to sacrifices

In Muzaffarnagar, a group of 43 farmers carried a massive 551-foot long Kanwar from Haridwar to Pura Mahadev Temple. This extraordinary yatra was dedicated to the brave soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice. It presented a unique blend of devotion and patriotism, deeply moving onlookers on the Delhi-Dehradun Highway and setting an example of ultimate dedication.

101-Foot Kanwar Yatra Dedicated to Pahalgam Attack Victims

On July 17, 2025, the Saharanpur Sadashiv Group in Haridwar commenced a 101-foot Kanwar Yatra, specifically dedicated to the victims of the Pahalgam attack and the nation’s soldiers. This group of 25 Kanwariyas collected Ganga jal and journeyed to a temple in Saharanpur. This yatra served as a poignant symbol of national devotion and sacrifice.

Delhi’s patriotic Kanwar Yatra: Honouring Pahalgam martyrs

During the holy month of Shravan, six youths from Delhi embarked on a special Kanwar Yatra from Haridwar to Delhi, named “Operation Sindoor.” This yatra was dedicated to the souls of the soldiers martyred in the Pahalgam terrorist attack. The Kanwar featured tableaux depicting Air Force and BSF soldiers in uniform, with the Tricolor waving alongside. This yatra has become a powerful symbol of divine devotion intertwined with patriotism and a tribute to our soldiers’ sacrifices.

Patriotic Kanwar Yatra with BrahMos tableau dedicated to Operation Sindoor

During the holy month of Shravan, a group of youths from J-2 Palam Colony, Manglapuri, Delhi, embarked on a special Kanwar Yatra from Haridwar. This unique procession featured a tableau of the BrahMos missile, symbolising the success of ‘Operation Sindoor’ and honouring the Indian armed forces. The yatra, which departed from Haridwar on July 8, included an idol of Bhagwan Shiva, a replica of the BrahMos missile, and the Tricolour flag. As it passed through Khatauli, people enthusiastically welcomed this patriotic display.

During the Kanwar Yatra in Haridwar, a magnificent tableau depicting a Rafale fighter jet was showcased. This impressive display included an idol of Lord Shiva, posters of Indian soldiers, and the Tricolor flag. The tableau emerged as a remarkable blend of divine devotion and national pride, symbolising a heartfelt tribute and gratitude towards our brave soldiers.

Mukund Thakur’s Inspiring Kanwar Yatra: A Tribute to ‘Operation Sindoor’ Despite Physical Challenge

Date: July 12, 2025 Place: Dwarka, Delhi

Mukund Thakur, from Shahdara, Delhi, embarked on a remarkable Kanwar Yatra from Haridwar, despite having one prosthetic leg. This arduous journey is not just a symbol of devotion but also of profound patriotism. Thakur dedicated his challenging yatra to the brave heroes martyred in “Operation Sindoor.” Inspired by the valour of the armed forces in response to the Pahalgam terrorist attack, he undertook this pledge. His pilgrimage is powerfully motivating people with its message of national love and courage.

Kanwar Yatra in Haridwar dedicated to ‘Operation Sindoor’ and brave women soldiers

During the auspicious month of Shravan, a unique Kanwar Yatra commenced from Haridwar in Uttarakhand. This particular yatra was dedicated to two brave Indian women soldiers who played pivotal roles in “Operation Sindoor”: Wing Commander Vyomika Singh and Indian Army Signal Corps officer Nupal Sofiya Qureshi. This tribute specifically honoured their bravery and sacrifice in “Operation Sindoor,” which was carried out on May 7, 2025, in response to the Pahalgam attack.

These inspiring accounts from the Kanwar Yatra across various states in July 2025 highlight a powerful fusion of deep-seated faith and fervent nationalism. Devotees undertook their arduous journeys not merely for spiritual fulfillment, but to express profound gratitude and respect for the nation’s armed forces.
