Patna: A complaint against Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MLA from Maner, Bhai Virendra was filed after an alleged audio clip of him threatening the Panchayat Sachiv (secretary) went viral on the social media.

The Panchayat secretary Sandeep Kumar on July 28 lodged a complaint at a SC/ST police station, alleging the RJD lawmaker for threatening him during a conversation over phone.

According to Kumar, he was threatened by the MLA over the phone after he failed to recognise him initially and did not greeted him appropriately as per the protocol.

He stated that he was not aware that it was the local MLA on the call as he did not disclose about his position during the conversation initially.

The incident relates to an alleged call made by the RJD MLA to the Panchayat secretary to enquire about the progress of a death certificate to be issued by the latter.

Kumar has alleged the RJD leader for using abusive language during the conversation such as to hit him with shoes. A purported audio clip of the said conversation is also doing the rounds on the social media.

The secretary after the incident reportedly informed his senior officials about the conversation and later walked into the police station to lodged a written complaint.

Interacting with media personnel Kumar stated that he is scared after the incident as the conversation ended on a threatening note.

The RJD MLA on the other hand has claimed that he has not used any foul language during the conversation and has not threatened the secretary either.

A case against the MLA has been registered by the police and the matter is being investigated further.
