In a historic milestone for Bharat’s assistive technology sector, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Bibinagar and the Defence Research and Development Laboratory (DRDL), under the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), have jointly unveiled the ADIDOC Foot Prosthesis—the country’s first indigenously developed high-performance carbon fibre foot for lower limb amputees.

The unveiling ceremony took place on July 14, 2025, led by Dr. G A Srinivasa Murthy, Director of DRDL-DRDO, and Dr. Ahanthem Santa Singh, Executive Director of AIIMS Bibinagar, Telangana, with virtual participation by Praveen Kumar, CMD of the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO).
