Patna: In a noteworthy development, the state cabinet led by Chief Minister (CM) Nitish Kumar on July 1 announced the implementation of ‘Mukhyamantri Pratigya Yojna’ (CM Promotion of Readiness, Awareness and Technical Insights for Guiding Youth Advancement).
The scheme announced as part of the 7 Nischay (resolve) aims to provide new opportunities for skill development, employment potential, leadership development, strong networking and career enhancement to the youths of the state.
The government under the scheme will provide monthly stipend of Rs 4000 to trained 12th pass students for their skill development. A similar stipend money of Rs 5000 will be given to ITI or Diploma passed students. The state will also provide a monthly stipend of Rs 6000 to graduate or post graduate students doing internships.
The government further announced that around one lakh youths of the state will be given internship in various institution from 2025-26 to 2030-31 under the scheme.
Announcing the implementation of the scheme, CM Nitish Kumar in a post on social media said “The scheme will prove useful for the youth to shape their future”.
“The objective of this visionary and innovative initiative of the state government is to make the youth self-reliant, skilled and employment oriented so that their future is secure,” said the CM.

He added that the government is committed to empowering the youths and providing them employment opportunities.
Notably, the state government has turned its focus extensively towards strengthening the education system along providing employment opportunities to the youths of the state.
Earlier CM Kumar distributed appointment certificates to 21,391 newly appointed police personnel at a ceremony held at Bapu Auditorium in Patna on June 28.
The CM highlighted that the newly appointed personnel would strengthen the law and order situation in the state, ensuring a safer and better environment for Bihar’s residents. He further assured that all sanctioned remaining posts of 2 lakhs 29 thousand police personnel would be filled by the end of the year.
Earlier in March, the CM also distributed appointment letters to over 10000 newly appointed teachers in a program held in Patna’s Gandhi Maidan.
The program was organised as part of handing over appointment letters to a total of 51389 newly appointed teachers recruited under phase three of the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) teachers recruitment drive.
Expressing his delight over the development CM Kumar said that so far 2, 66,558 new teachers selected by BPSC have been reinstated. He stated that other than this a total of 42918 candidates have also cleared the exam conducted by the BPSC for the post of headmasters who will be provided appointment letters next month. The CM informed that by combining these four phases, the number of new teachers, appointed through BPSC will reach 3, 09, 476.
Significantly, the NDA government of the state in the budget presented in March this year, allocated a whopping Rs 60,954 crore for education.
Presenting the budget, Finance Minister Samrat Choudhary announced to increase the monthly scholarship to students under the CM Backward classes and Extremely Backward Classes Pre Matric Scholarship Scheme. The minister also announced the doubling of scholarship amount of students of general category including minorities.
Choudhary also announced to open new private medical colleges in the state with active participation of private sector. He mentioned that out of the total 534 blocks in the state, 358 lacks an affiliated/government law college and the government will ensure establishment of at least one-degree college at every block in a phased manner.
