Mujeeb, who was arrested for seeking the location of INS Vikrant during Operation Sindoor, has been found to follow several Pakistani social media accounts known for their anti-India stance. According to the police, he was following Instagram accounts of Pakistani nationals with extremist views. Authorities also stated that Mujeeb is an active drug user and will be taken into custody again for further investigation.

According to the police, Mujeeb was following multiple Pakistani Instagram accounts, including those run by individuals known for holding extremist and anti-India views. Following his arrest, Mujeeb was uncooperative during interrogation and reportedly refused to disclose the passwords of his social media accounts. This raised further suspicion, leading investigators to probe his digital activity more thoroughly. The cyber wing has been approached to retrieve the necessary data from his mobile devices.

Authorities are also scrutinising Mujeeb’s travel history outside Kerala and suspect that his unwillingness to cooperate may be deliberate. Given the seriousness of the case, the investigation team has decided to take him into custody again for further questioning.

Kochi Harbour Police had taken into Mujeeb Rahman, for impersonating as an official from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) in a phone call to the Kochi Naval Headquarters.

The incident occurred when Rahman allegedly called the Naval Base posing as ‘Raghavan’ from the PMO and sought details about the location of the Indian Navy’s aircraft carrier, INS Vikrant, during Operation Sindoor.

Following a complaint filed by naval authorities, the Kochi Harbour Police registered a case and launched an investigation. The case has been registered under Section 319(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which deals with impersonation.

Investigators traced the call to two phone numbers and subsequently took Rahman into custody. He is currently being interrogated as part of the ongoing probe.
