Patna: In a significant development, a team of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) on May 7 arrested four Chinese nationals near Raxaul of Bihar’s East Champaran district. Three male Chinease citizens along with a woman companion were caught while they were trying to sneak into Bharatiya territory illegally near Bharat-Nepal border at Raxaul.

According to preliminary information, the arrested individuals do not have visas and are constantly changing their statement. They were also reported to be in touch with a Pakistani citizen and had reportedly stayed in Nepal’s capital Katmandu for a week before moving to Bharat on Wednesday.

They were arrested by the personnel of 47th battalion of SSB stationed while they were spotted near the ‘Maitri Bridge’ near Indo-Nepal border at Raxaul. Following the arrest, the SSB brought them to the Haraiya police station.

According to media reports, all of them are currently being interrogated at an undisclosed location.

“The foreign nations did not have visas, though carrying passport. They were brought to Haraiya police station by SSB, said an official of the police.

An alert was sounded at Indo-Nepal border following Bharat carried out precision strikes at 9 locations associated with terror groups in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) under “Operation Sindoor” on May 7.

The strikes were carried out almost a fortnight after Pakistan backed terrorists killed 26 people in a barbaric attack in Pahalgam of Jammu and Kashmir.
