13 Bangladeshi infiltrators detained in Maharashtra

In a related development, Maharashtra police detained as many as 13 Bangladeshi infiltrators working as hawkers in Mumbai.

Those taken into custody have been identified as Manorul Sheikh, Jiyaul Sheikh, Naem Sheikh, Samoun Sheikh, Rafikul Sheikh, Saim Sheikh, Halum Sheikh, Kasad Sheikh, Mainnuddin Sheikh, Jahangir Sheikh and others.

The detained individuals were all carrying fake aadhar cards all listing addresses from Jharkhand’s Sahibganj district.

Located in the eastern tip of Jharkhand, Sahibganj district shares border with West Bangal’s Malda district adjacent to the Bangladesh border.

Reports suggest that the region has an active network of agents, felicitating illegal entry of Bangladeshi infiltrators into the Bhartiya territory alongside providing them with forged documentation.

The detention of the Bangladeshi nationals carrying identity cards of the Sahibganj district has once again highlighted the concerns raised by the state opposition leaders led by the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) who have been long accusing the Hemant Soren led JMM-Congress government over the issue of illegal infiltration in the state.
