Raipur: In a bid to promote shared cultural values and harmony in society, the Church of North India (CNI) has announced to take forward its project of cow conservation and protection in other states of the country as well.
According to a report of Nai Duniya, the director of (Jansampark) public relations of CNI, has announced that the organisation is working to set up ‘Gaushalas’ (cow shelter homes) on properties owned by Church in Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan, marking extension of the project that was started by the organisation in 2024.
Recently, the diocese along with other Hindu groups had also organised a Janjagran (public awareness) meeting alongside carrying out a 50-kilometre Dandawat Yatra (prostration march) to stop cow slaughtering. The said gathering and the march was organised in Balodabazar of Chhattisgarh from 22 to 24 of last month.
The diocese has been contributing to various activities such as promoting communal harmony and working for cow protection and conservation with the help of administration. Work has already been started to set up Gaushalas in Pendra Marwahi, Mahasamund and Balodabazar districts of the state, informed the secretary of the diocese Nitin Lawrence.
He further informed that the organisation has been doing various programmes aimed at serving the people. Further work related to conservation of environment and social service has also been carried out in the past few years.
The organisation was also involved in taking out bike- rallies and organising stage performance in support of Naxal-elimination at separate places of Bastar in October last year, he added.
He further noted that the diocese had participated extensively in ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign and ‘Harit Kumbh’ campaign of the Sangh during the Mahakumbh this year.
