Union Home Minister Amit Shah on March 25 praised the decision of two Hurriyat-affiliated groups to break away from separatism in J&K, describing it as a “significant victory” for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a peaceful and united India.

Amit Shah’s remarks came shortly after these two organisations, previously aligned with the Hurriyat Conference, announced their decision to sever all ties with separatism in J&K.

“Separatism has become a thing of the past in Kashmir. The Modi government’s unifying policies have driven separatism out of J&K. Two groups linked to Hurriyat have officially broken away from separatism,” Amit Shah shared on his ‘X’ handle.

Separatism has become history in Kashmir.

The unifying policies of the Modi government have tossed separatism out of J&K. Two organizations associated with the Hurriyat have announced the severing of all ties with separatism.

He welcomed this move as a step towards strengthening India’s unity, urging other such groups to abandon separatism. “This is a major victory for PM Shri @narendramodi Ji’s vision of a developed, peaceful, and united Bharat.”

The decision by the two Hurriyat-linked organisations marks a significant shift in the political landscape of J&K. In recent years, the government has introduced a range of measures to curb separatist activities, including strict enforcement of anti-terror laws and socio-economic reforms. Officials view this development as a key moment in J&K’s evolving political scenario, signalling the potential for further integration and peace in the region.
