HinduPACT congratulates Kash Patel on FBI Director confirmation, urges him to address concerns of Hindus

HinduPACT, a leading advocacy organisation for the American Hindu community, has extended its congratulations to Kash Patel on his confirmation as the new FBI Director. Expressing confidence in his leadership, the organisation urged Patel to address key concerns affecting both the Hindu community and national security.

In a statement, HinduPACT emphasised the need for Patel’s tenure to uphold religious freedom, combat hate crimes, and ensure justice. The organisation cited the Bhagavad Gita’s wisdom as a guiding principle for strengthening America’s security.

Key Requests from HinduPACT to Director Patel:

Investigate attacks on Hindu Mandirs and Gandhi statues as hate crimes

HinduPACT called for the FBI to treat the rising incidents of Hindu temple vandalism and Mahatma Gandhi statue desecration as hate crimes. These attacks, the group argues, threaten religious tolerance and must be prioritised in law enforcement efforts.

Crackdown on illegal human trafficking

The organisation urged the FBI to dismantle human trafficking networks that contribute to illegal immigration and exploit vulnerable individuals.

Establish regular dialogue with Hindu leaders

HinduPACT proposed the creation of a formal mechanism for consistent engagement between the FBI and Hindu community leaders. The dialogue would address concerns such as Hinduphobia, misrepresentations of sacred Hindu symbols like the Swastika, and misinformation surrounding caste-related discrimination.

Recover stolen Hindu and Buddhist Artefacts

The organisation urged the FBI Art Crime Team to intensify efforts to track and repatriate thousands of sacred Hindu and Buddhist artifacts stolen from India, Nepal, Cambodia, and other Southeast Asian nations. Many of these artifacts, HinduPACT noted, have ended up in Western museums and private collections.

HinduPACT affirmed its commitment to collaborating with Director Patel and the FBI to ensure a safer, more just society while upholding religious freedom and civil liberties.

The Hindu Policy Research and Advocacy Collective (HinduPACT) focuses on advocacy and policy research for the American Hindu community. It promotes human rights, voter education, and informed policymaking to foster peace, understanding, and grassroots activism.
