In a shocking revelation, the Beawar police on February 17 busted a gang of Muslim men accused of trapping, sexually assaulting, and coercing Hindu schoolgirls into religious conversion. The accused allegedly forced the victims to offer namaz, observe roza (fasting), and recite the Kalma (Islamic declaration of faith). Reports also indicate that the girls were pressured to wear burqas and subjected to systematic brainwashing aimed at religious conversion.

One of the victims provided a harrowing statement, revealing that she was cut with a blade when she refused to observe roza. The survivors were reportedly subjected to continuous sexual exploitation and severe emotional and psychological manipulation. Initial interrogations and victim testimonies have unveiled shocking details about the scale and brutality of the crimes.

Investigations have identified the arrested accused as Rehan Mohammad (20), Sohail Mansuri (19), Lukman (20), Arman Pathan (19), Sahil Qureshi (19), and two minors. Reports indicate that none of them attended school and were working as welders and labourers in a furniture shop. However, their targets were Hindu schoolgirls from Class 10 who frequently passed through their locality on their way to school.

One of the victims recounted how Sohail Mansuri stalked her for 15 days, dropping notes with his phone number in her path. Eventually, the girl called him, leading to a meeting at a café, where she was sexually assaulted and photographed without consent. Following this, Sohail, along with his accomplices, continued to blackmail and exploit her.

According to a media report, Sohail provided a mobile phone to the victim for constant communication and threats. Under pressure, she introduced her friends to Sohail’s associates, namely Riyan, Javed, and Arman. The victim was then coerced into wearing a burqa, observing Ramadan fasts, and reciting the Kalma. When she resisted, Sohail cut her hand with a blade as punishment.

Statements from victims suggest that the accused arrived in expensive vehicles, including Bullet motorcycles and luxury cars, to lure them. One survivor recalled a chilling conversation where the accused boasted about selling Hindu girls: “A Brahmin girl can fetch Rs 20 lakh, while a Dalit girl like you would be worth Rs 10 lakh.”

The victims were continuously blackmailed using obscene photos and videos and forced to bring more girls into the trap.

The incident came to light after one of the victims was caught with a suspicious mobile phone. When her family confronted the accused, he abused and threatened them, prompting them to immediately report the matter to the police. The investigation revealed that multiple Hindu schoolgirls had fallen victim to the gang and were also forced to steal money from their homes to fund their abusers.

The arrested accused were produced in court on February 19, 2025, where lawyers attacked them with shoes and slippers in protest. The court granted police four days of remand for the five adult accused, while the two minors were placed under the Juvenile Board’s custody.

Meanwhile, the Hindu community in Beawar has staged widespread protests, demanding strict action and fast-track justice. The victims’ statements have been officially recorded in court, and their medical examinations have been completed.

Authorities are now investigating: How many more girls fell prey to this gang? Was this part of a larger operation? Were the accused receiving external financial or ideological support?

The police have assured that the case is being handled with utmost priority, and the strictest legal action will be taken against those responsible.
