“Bharat’s gift to humanity, her contribution in all fields can never be denied. It is very important to introduce this prosperous knowledge of Bharat to today’s young generation,” said ISRO Chairman V Narayanan. Shri Narayanan was speaking on the occasion of the closing of Gyan Maha Kumbh 2081. He said that we have a lot of evidence that students from many countries used to come to Bharat to receive education. Our Ayurveda crossed all boundaries and gained global recognition. Shri Narayanan said that I completely reject the statement that the level of education in Bharat increased after the arrival of the British. He said that Bharatiya knowledge and culture was excellent and it was destroyed by the invaders. But today it is the duty of all of us to make it a developed nation on the basis of the country’s ancient knowledge and culture. Bharat is progressing in all fields today.
The chief guest of the closing session of Gyan Maha Kumbh, the Sarkaryavah of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Dattatreya Hosabale said that there is no dearth of problems in Bharat, but if we keep discussing them, the country cannot move forward. This is the reason why the main motto of Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas (SSUN) is to discuss the solutions and not the problems. Shri Hosabale said that such a change is needed in the education sector of the country, which can establish knowledge and life values among the future makers of Bharat, the students. According to Shri Hosabale, SSUN neither expected from the government what should happen from the Bharatiya point of view, nor did it demand such a thing. The Nyas has done the work of enlightening the society. He said that the Nyas has brainstormed from time to time about the solution of this issue by bringing together the educationists, thinkers, scholars of Bharat on one platform. Along with this, the trust also introduced the people running educational institutions of necessary change and inspired them to run their institutions with this vision. Hosabale further said that along with education that imparts Bharatiya values, the trust also ran programmes on character building. Along with this, by organising programmes on many dimensions like environment, Bharatiya languages and fighting in the courts as well as putting forth the views before the government whenever required, the trust has not only tried to create a suitable environment, but has also done a commendable job of creating awareness among students, teachers, parents, administrators, educationists about their participation and role in the nationwide movement of educational change.
A serious deliberation on the significance of calling Bharat as India took place on February 1, 2025. Convener Dr Motilal Gupta said that the word ‘India’ is limited to just a name, whereas ‘Bharat’ is an emotion for us, the heritage of our ancestors. It reflects not just a landmass, but the entire universe. In this event, Shri M Guruji said that “This is Bharat, we are Bharatiyas and we worry about Bharat only, we have no connection with the word ‘India’, we the people of Bharat can never recognise it.”
Harit Maha Kumbh 2081 was organised on 5th and 6th February under the joint aegis of SSUN and Paryavaran Sanrakshan Gatividhi in Gyan Maha Kumbh. National Secretary of the Nyas, Dr. Atul Kothari shared the concept of Harit Maha Kumbh. Kothari said, “Only we are responsible for this condition of the environment and no one else but us can save us from its ill-effects.” Prof RS Verma, Director of Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology, made the participants aware of the environment and said that we can retain development only through sustainable development. Prof Verma warned about the ill-effects of the use of plastic and emphasised on its minimum use. Gopal Arya, while linking the environment with the prosperity of the Bharatiya languages, said that Hari can be obtained from Harit.
Addressing the inaugural session of the three-day event focused on ‘Bharatiya Education: National Concept’, the National Secretary of SSUN Dr Atul Kothari, while highlighting the importance of Gyan Maha Kumbh, said that the organisation of Gyan Maha Kumbh in this divine Maha Kumbh is a wonderful coincidence in itself. This programme will give a new energy and direction to the education system of the whole country with Bharatiya knowledge tradition. The chief guest of this session, Sah Sarkaryavah of RSS Dr. Krishna Gopal said that one-sided education was not given in our knowledge tradition, but today the whole world is suffering from one-sided education system. We have to reawaken the consciousness of Bharatiya knowledge tradition in the society. In this three-day event, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Vagish Swaroop of Vishwa Jagriti Foundation, Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, Sadhvi Ritambhara, Seeta Akka of Rashtra Sevika Samiti and other dignitaries were present.
Topics like the role of private educational institutions in education, the role of governance in education, developed Bharat and Bharatiya languages were discussed. More than 10000 students, educationists, teachers etc associated with the education sector from all the prants (provinces) from East to West and North to South participated enthusiastically in this programme, which included Vice Chancellors, Directors, Chairpersons of more than 100 central and state universities and institutions.
Various resolutions for nation building were passed with a resounding ‘Om’. These will be disseminated across the country by SSUN by running a special campaign for the next one month. Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas will run a country-wide signature campaign on the subject of calling Bharat as Bharat and not India, in which more than 10 lakh signatures will be collected and a memorandum will be given to the President. Along with this, an attempt will be made to give a concrete shape to this campaign by submitting memorandums to educational institutions, universities, various social organisations, industry, education minister, governor’s office etc.
