Preparations for the Mahakumbh in Prayagraj, scheduled for January 2025, are in full swing, with the grand entry of 13 Akharas, a major symbol of public faith, into the Maha Kumbh city.

On Sunday, Shri Panch Dashnam Avahan Akhara made a grand regal entry into the Mahakumbh city with a special message. Devotees and the Mahakumbh administration warmly welcomed the saints of the Akhara, showering them with flowers at various locations.

The entry process of various Akhara of Sanatan Dharma into Mahakumbh City has gained momentum as preparations intensify for the grand Maha Samagam of faith on the banks of Triveni.

On Sunday, Shri Panch Dashnam Avahan Akhara, the first among the 13 Akharas of Sanatan Dharma to come into existence, made its majestic entry into the Mahakumbh cantonment.

Led by Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Swami Arun Giri, the Akhara started its journey from its local ashram in Madouka and traversed various routes before crossing the Triveni pontoon bridge to reach the cantonment.

Swami Arun Giri highlighted that Shri Panch Dashnam Avahan Akhara is the oldest Akhara that has so far conducted 122 Mahakumbhs and 123 Kumbhs in Prayagraj. The Akhara’s entry into the Mahakumbh area was marked by its commitment to a special resolution.

Mahant Gopal Giri of the Akhara says that more than a dozen Maha Mandaleshwars and 51 Shri Mahants, along with a large number of Naga Sanyasis, participated in the cantonment entry journey of the Akhara.

In this grand cantonment entry journey of Shri Panch Dashnam Aawahan Akhara, Maha Mandaleshwars riding on chariots and Naga Sanyasis riding on horses and camels became the centre of attraction for the devotees.

The Yatra was led by the chariot of the Akhara’s deity, Bhagwan Gajanan, followed by the Panch Parmeshwar Ramta Panch and the chariot of the Akhara’s Acharya Mahamandaleshwar.

During the journey, the saints also proclaimed the message, “Plant trees, Save the universe.”

Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Swami Arun Giri says that the main objective of the Akhara is to propagate Sanatan Dharma and protect religion. However, the biggest challenge facing the world is environmental protection, he points out.

As part of the “Plant Trees, Save the Universe”, he urged devotees, and Sanatanis to plant trees. This time, he is personally distributing 51,000 fruit plants as prasad to the devotees at the Akhara in the Mahakumbh. Additionally, various events will be organised within the Akhara’s camp to promote environmental conservation.

The camp entry yatra of Shri Panch Dashnam Aawahan Akhara covered a distance of 11 km and reached its camp located in Sector 20. The grand and divine yatra of the Akhara was welcomed with flower showers by residents and the Mahakumbh administration at various locations in the city.
