GORAKHPUR: Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) concluded its one-day Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting in Gorakhpur. The meeting commenced at the Deendayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University’s Samvaad Bhavan with floral tributes offered to the portraits of Maa Saraswati and Swami Vivekananda by ABVP’s National President Prof. Rajsharan Shahi, ABVP National General Secretary Yagywalkya Shukla, and ABVP National Organising Secretary Ashish Chauhan. The delegates present at the CWC meeting collectively sang Vande Mataram during the inaugural session of the ABVP CWC meeting.

The National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of ABVP is scheduled to take place on November 21 at the Gorakhpur University campus. Commemorating the tercentenary year of Punyashloka Ahilyabai Holkar, a ‘Maanvandana Yatra’, organised by ABVP, commencing from Maheshwar in Madhya Pradesh will arrive at the 70th ABVP National Conference in Gorakhpur, after passing through various cities including Prayagraj and Ayodhya. This Yatra aims to spread awareness among the masses about Ahilyabai’s efforts in reviving Bharat’s cultural uniqueness. Tomorrow (Thursday), an exhibition, showcasing these efforts, will be inaugurated by International General Secretary of the Vishva Hindu Parishad, Shri Champat Rai.

During the one-day CWC meeting, significant discussions took place on relevant topics related to education and social issues. Five key resolutions, to be presented at the 70th ABVP National Conference, were deeply deliberated upon. These issues include enhancing the quality of education in academic institutions, addressing fee hike issues, tackling the issue of adulterated food products, India’s increasing influence on international platforms, and the violence in Manipur. These five resolutions will be passed during the ABVP National Conference from 22 to 24 November.

ABVP National President, Dr. Rajsharan Shahi, stated, “Gorakhpur is a land of valor. The brave people of Gorakhpur have made significant contributions to Bharat’s Independence movement. The city holds immense significance in political, spiritual, and cultural contexts. The ‘Nath’ sect has played a pivotal role in fostering social harmony across the nation. To make Bharatiya education affordable and accessible, effective measures need to be taken. Inclusive and accessible education will enable even the most underprivileged students to excel. This ABVP CWC meeting will pave the way for positive change.”

ABVP National General Secretary, Yagywalkya Shukla stated, “ABVP karyakartas are working across the country to bring about positive transformations. The youth of Bharat, brimming with hope and potential, will act as the harbinger of constructive change. Immediate joint efforts by the central and the state governments are necessary to restore peace in Manipur. Gorakhpur, as a center of intellect and ideology, has often guided the nation. This ABVP National Conference, in Gorakhpur, will drive the change through Bharat-centric ideology under the leadership of the country’s students.”
