Kerala: High Court grills Thiruvithamkoor Devaswom board for erecting flex board inside the Mandirs

The High Court of Kerala has vehemently criticised the Thiruvithamkoor Devaswom board for installing flex boards on the Mandir premises. High Court Justice Anil K Narendran stated that no flex board should be erected inside the Mandir premises, whether they belong to Dewaswom Board or someone else. The Court came down heavily on the Dewaswom Board. It said that the flex boards are installed in the Mandir just like they are on the wayside.

The flex boards in question featured Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and his ministerial and party colleagues. They were erected in connection with the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of the Thiruvithamkoor Devaswom board. The Chief Minister was the inaugurator. These flex boards were placed in several Mandirs, which invited the wrath of not only the Kerala High Court but also the Mandir devotees.

The Division Bench of the High Court, led by Justice Anil K Narendran, recapitulated that such boards should not be placed inside the Mandirs; Mandirs are sacred, and it is not for such sort of displays. The Court referred to an earlier interim order by a Single Bench imposing a fine of Rs 5,000 for each unauthorised flex board.

High Court’s stand was strong and firm. It stated that placing such boards inside a Mandir, even though it is of the Dewaswom Board, is inappropriate and a violation of the sanctity of the Mandir.

The pro-Sangh Janam Malayalam TV channel exposed the matter. Thiruvithamkoor Devaswom board, vide an official circular dated October 17, directed the installation of the flex board in Mandirs as part of the Board’s platinum jubilee. Thus, there is widespread erection of flex boards even inside the mandirs.

The High Court order is the latest blow the Pinarayi regime has suffered at the hands of the judiciary. It is because the CPM regime, wherever in the world, does not acknowledge the sanctity of religion and native culture. They do not respect and tolerate Mandirs. But now, CPM got a befitting blow from the Kerala High Court. RSS-inspired Hindu Aikyavedi had unleashed strong protests against the posters.
