Eight coaches of the Agartala – Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Express derailed in Assam, causing a disruption in rail services. The incident occurred on Tuesday, but fortunately, no casualties have been reported

Derailed coach of Agartala – Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Express

Guwahati: The 12520 Agartala – Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Express that left Agartala on 17th October morning derailed at Dibalong station under Lumding division in the Lumding  – Badarpur Hill section of Assam at about 15-55 hrs. 08 coaches including the power car and the Engine of the train on its way to Mumbai got derailed at the Dibalong station in Dima Hasao district of Assam. However, no casualty or major injuries have been reported of any passenger of the derailed train.

Accident Relief Train & Accident Relief Medical Train has already reached the  accident site from Lumding along with senior officials of the division to supervise the rescue and restoration works. Running of trains over the Lumding – Badarpur single line section has been suspended by the North Frontier Railway (NFR)

Guwahati – Silchar) Express commencing journey on 18th October, 2024. NF Railway officials informed ‘Organiser’ that top officials of NFR are monitoring the situation and restoration works are in full swing to reopen the normal train communication as soon as possible.
