The MSC “ANNA” docked at Vizhinjam on September 27, 2024. Measuring 399.98 meters in length and 58.6 meters in width, the MSC “ANNA” is the second-largest vessel to arrive at Vizhinjam.
Vizhinjam International Seaport has made history by handling the maximum number of containers to and fro a single ship in the country. The ship is MSC “ANNA”. Total number of containers handled is 10,330. That the operation is during the trial run is most significant.

Automated Cranes erected in the port were deployed to load and unload the containers. Then the vessel returned to Colombo. Experts believe that the great achievement of 10,330 containers is a historic one.
