New Delhi: Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad organised a massive ‘Chhatra Garjana Rally’ on 18th September 2024 in North and South Campuses of Delhi University drawing the participation of hundreds of students. It served as a platform to raise a multitude of pressing concerns of Delhi University students. Hundreds of students united to demand immediate action and effective measures by the Delhi University administration on several significant issues that deeply affect the academic lives of students.

Through the Rally, ABVP aimed to address various students’ issues including One Course- One Fee,Centralised hostel allocation forms, scholarships for SC/ST/OBC students, placement cell at University level, concessional metro pass for students, NCC for girls in colleges, psychologists and gynecologists in all colleges and many other. ABVP’s call to protest received a massive response from the student community of DU which highlights the gravity of problems being faced by them and their faith in the leadership of ABVP.

ABVP Delhi State Secretary, Harsh Attri stated, “Chhatra Garjana Rally stands as a unified voice, amplifying the students’ concerns in every college of Delhi University. Despite its esteemed reputation, Delhi University grapples with lack of infrastructure, fee disparities and women safety concerns. The Delhi University administration should take immediate action for the holistic development of students in Delhi University.”

ABVP National Secretary, Shivangi Kharwal stated, ” ABVP led DUSU has constantly strived for the resolution of students’ issues and we have been successful in addressing many of them over the years. ABVP believes that the DU administration needs to take adequate steps to keep pace with the global standards of education and we’d continue to push forward our demands until we achieve our aim of making DU a secure campus for women and resolving the administrative issues that affect the student community at large.”
