Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to fulfil another promise (Modi ki Gurantee)  as he prepares to launch the Subhadra Yojana in Bhubaneswar on September 17, coinciding with his birthday. The scheme, announced in the BJP’s Sankalp Patra  (Election Manifesto) , aims to empower women in Odisha by providing them with financial assistance. Under this initiative, women between the ages of 21 and 60 will receive a sum of Rs 50,000, with the first installment being released by the Prime Minister at Janata Maidan on Tuesday. The state government, administration, and BJP workers have been working tirelessly to ensure the success of this program. Elaborate security arrangements have been put in place for the Prime Minister’s visit, which is expected to be a significant event in the state.

Prime Minister will launch ‘SUBHADRA’, the flagship Scheme of Government of Odisha, in  Janata Maidan, Bhubaneswar. It is the largest, single women-centric scheme and is expected to cover more than 1 crore women. Under the scheme, all eligible beneficiaries between the age of 21-60 years would receive Rs 50,000/- over a period of 5 years between 2024-25 to 2028-29. An amount of Rs 10,000/- per annum in two equal instalments will be credited directly to the beneficiary’s Aadhaar-enabled and DBT-enabled bank account. On this historic occasion, Prime Minister would initiate the fund transfer into the bank accounts of more than 10 lakh women.

Prime Minister will also  lay the foundation stone and dedicate to the nation Railway Projects worth more than Rs 2800 crores in Bhubaneswar. These Railway projects will enhance Railway infrastructure in Odisha and improve growth and connectivity in the region. He will also lay the foundation stone of National Highway Projects worth more than Rs 1000 crores.

Prime Minister will release the 1st instalment of assistance to nearly 10 lakh beneficiaries under PMAY-G of around 14 states. The Griha Pravesh celebrations for 26 lakh beneficiaries of PMAY (Gramin and Urban) from across the country will be held during the programme. Prime Minister will hand over the keys of their house to PMAY (Gramin and Urban) beneficiaries. He will also launch Awaas+ 2024 App, for survey of additional households for PMAY-G. Further, Prime Minister will launch the Operational Guidelines of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban (PMAY-U) 2.0.

On September 17, Prime Minister will travel to Odisha and at around 11:15 AM,  first he will interact with the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban. Thereafter at around 12 noon, he will launch Subhadra Yojana  and  he will lay the foundation stone and dedicate to the nation various development projects worth more than Rs. 3800 crores.

Tight security cover in Bhubaneswar ahead of PM Modi’s Odisha Visit

Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Bhubaneswar on September 17, the State Capital is set to be wrapped in a multi-layered security cover. According to sources, a massive deployment of police personnel is planned, including 11 DCPs, 22 Additional DCPs, 66 ACPs, 100 Inspector-in-Charges, 300 senior police officers, and 81 platoons of force, to ensure the Prime Minister’s safety during his visit. This extensive security arrangement is aimed at providing a foolproof shield for the Prime Minister’s scheduled events in the city.

Sharing details about the security arrangement, Twin City Police Commissioner Sanjeeb Panda said, “The 12 km stretch from the airport to Janata Maidan has been divided into several sectors. IG Crime Branch and IG EOW will be in charge of the route lining. Similarly, IG Personnel will be in charge at the venue.”

“11 DCP rank officers, 22 additional DCPs, 66 ACPs, 100 IICs, 300 senior police officers, 81 platoons of force and around 500 home guards will be deployed during the PM’s visit. Besides, three units of STO, ODRAF will also be engaged in the security arrangement,” Panda added.

So far 60 lakh women have applied for Subhadra Scheme

Deputy Chief Minister Prativa Parida announced that over 60 lakh women have already applied for the Subhadra Scheme, with the goal of enrolling at least 1 crore women under the state government’s flagship women-centric initiative, led by Chief Minister Mohan Majhi. She assured applicants that the registration process will remain open until all eligible beneficiaries are covered, and those who apply after September 17 will also receive the funds, urging them not to panic.
