A disturbing case has emerged from Moradabad district in Uttar Pradesh, where a woman has accused a man named Altaf of posing as “Akash,” luring her into a relationship, and subsequently sexually exploiting her. The accused reportedly pressured the woman to convert to Islam, threatening to rape her four-year-old daughter when she refused. The police have since arrested the suspect.

The incident occurred in the Majhola police station area of Moradabad district. According to the victim’s complaint, she resides in the Linepar area of Moradabad and is married with a young daughter. The victim, who used to commute to Amroha for work, stated that she met Altaf, who introduced himself as “Akash,” and gradually won her trust. Under this false identity, he convinced her to enter into a relationship.

The victim alleged that one day, while she was alone at her home in Moradabad, Altaf visited her. Upon finding her alone, he allegedly raped her. When she threatened to report the incident to the police, Altaf, still posing as “Akash,” assured her of marriage to prevent her from lodging a complaint. However, the victim was left shocked upon discovering his true identity as Altaf. She further alleged that Altaf had secretly recorded obscene videos of her.

In her complaint, the victim claimed that Altaf used these videos to blackmail her, threatening to make them viral online if she did not comply with his demands. He allegedly forced her to leave her husband and live with him, coercing her to adopt practices such as eating meat, wearing a burqa, and performing namaz five times a day. According to the complaint, when the victim refused, Altaf allegedly assaulted her.

The situation escalated on September 2, 2024, when Altaf allegedly entered her house and demanded that she convert to Islam. “When I refused to do so, he took off the clothes of my 4-year-old daughter. He threatened that if I did not accept Islam, he would rape my daughter. I somehow escaped and reached the police station and informed the police about this,” the victim recounted.

Following the complaint, the Moradabad police filed a case against Altaf under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The accused has been arrested and is currently undergoing interrogation.

Superintendent of Police (SP) City, Kumar Ranvijay Singh, confirmed the arrest, stating, “A case has been registered against the accused Altaf under various provisions, including the POCSO Act. The accused has been arrested and is being questioned.”
